Cool!
Nice!
Is it possible to map a CC to select the slots?
(I donāt own a DT).
No mapping but CC 19 is Sample Select (Slot) CC for DT1.
(No CC in DT2 manual)
Confusedā¦
So you can use an external controller to control Slot on DT but not DT2?
Ex-Octatrack owner, had great fun doing this with my Octatrack, using a Launchpad!
No CC yet, I hope it will come back. NRPN only.
(From manual, and I just tested CC and NRPN send from DT2 knobs)
this is sooo cool! thank you for making this
DTog has 128 slots/project, DT2 has 8x128 slots/project⦠thats why theyāve gone with nrpn instead of cc to control sample slot on DT2, CC just doesnt provide enough available values unfortunately!
It does for slots. You just need another CC for the 8 banks.
Yeah f*ck NRPN!
Iām exploring OSC at the moment⦠I look down on MIDI mortals and sneer
Guys iām having a headache trying to do this again, can someone please explain easy or indicate where i can find the answer in th etopic to make the megabreak and instal with the octachainer?
I am new to the Octatrack have it for 1 day.
Thought it would be a funny challenge to set this up.
So i took 16 breaks, sliced them up in Ableton.
All the 1st slices in sample 1, 2nd slices in Sample 2 etc. up to slice 16 in sample 16.
Then applied 16 slice grid in the octatrack, set slice on.
Then added 16 trigs in slice mode slice 1- 16 and added a scene lock to slice 16.
now when i move the fader i get to hear any of the 16 breaks.
Is this correct or did i miss something?
Cheers
T
Canāt be easy.
Seems correct. Works well ?
Not sure if Scene B should be set to 16 or 17ā¦
Yeah works wel. Very addictive.
This break and some loops made with the Behringer ms1 are the first things i did on the Octatrack. I have to say i really like it. Not so difficult as the interwebs are stating.
Do not have much Elektron experience. Only i have a Analog Keys on wich i can work a little.
Wil try slice 17. Thanks. /( Tried but 16 is enought)
I have prepared another set of breaks in ableton.
Its some work but one in the octa its so much fun.
Could this technique work with multiple tracks on the OT ? Or is there a sample/slot/memory limit that restrict it to a single track ?
I envision a lot of sound design madness with this.
It is recommended to use FLEX (clicks with Static), so there is slot and ram limit.
Iād use slice every 2 steps.
8 or 16 tracksā¦
(It is possible to reduce slots by shifting slices with plocked lfos, but it adds complexity)
Thanks ! Maybe itās better for me to directly implement this technique in Bitwig.
Mimic it or prepare samples ?
@sezare56 is the only person who still uses an OT.
If I were to give the OT another chance, Iād listen to everything he says
Yeah trying to mimic this technique in Bitwig might be interesting.
