What code language do you write in?
If I end up doing anything itāll probably be C#. Iāll share whatever I do in case somebody wants to make an equivalent for Mac.
I donāt think I have the skills to be of much help, but I would be very happy to see this going!
Starting just with project/bank/patterns swapping would already be a great first step that shouldnāt take much work.
And then I guess adding sample slot swapping/ordering would be the most popular request (?)
I havenāt touched C# for years, but Iād be interested in seeing what you do. I could port it over to Python or use it as an excuse to learn more Node.
The developer decides itās tools so go for it!
(If would make it i would made it with electron and standard webtech so it is easier for more people to chime in.)
Yeah I agree that C# is not the most cross-platform friendly but I figure I can prototype a lot faster using a language I know well.
Iāve started writing down some thoughts and initial findingsāvery, very preliminary:
My first step is to build a console app that just spits out basic info about projects (i.e. part names, which patterns are in use, which parts they use). Once I have that I can create a crude visualization of a project, and then look at adding an option to swap banks.
These days I find Python really quick to prototype stuff but Iāve not used it to build and UIs.
Yes I know how it is ![]()
I didnāt mean to hijack this thread, I will create a new dedicated thread shortly, hang tight.
Moving over here:
No disrespect meant to Rusty, I hope heās okay ![]()
Donāt have my Octatrack anymore but still have my OctaEdit licence, I dont really know what to do with it.
Is there any hope for this to be downloadable again?
PS it looks like the registration for octaedit.com is set to expire soon, I wonder if rusty will renew it or if the site will go offline?
Unlikely :

Thereās always macOS | Mono !
Yeah, I wish Rusty the best. Gotta pay the rent and put food on the table.
If I was able to get a license from someone who was no longer using Octaedit is there a way to run this software on an older Mac or is there a āgotchaā I need to be aware of? Is there any way around the date expiration of the beta? Thereās no other option out there which is a shame.
