i’ll be the outlier, i love the design of OB6 and TEO-5, especially the TEO-5. At first I didn’t really like theOB6 design, but when I got it, I fell in love with it. TEO-5 feels super cyber futuristic. With that said, not sure how I feel about 5 voices but it’s on my radar down the line

It is honestly not an issue when you have the synth in person in front of you. It is darker than it seems on pictures.

Mines currently in an expensive pile out in the living room while I deep clean and re organize my gear desk.
It’s already calling to me. I love the design personally but I also put a bunch of custom knobs and wood sides on it so there’s that.
One more pic because it looks like everything is rubbing together there. I could do better than thrown on a chair but I’m not a monster.

It basically looks retro-futuristic which is also how it sounds.
Pretty good/classic combo of look and sound, no wonder they didn’t change it.

thats exactly what im doing. perfect balance timbrally, and the dn2 midi seq is the most powerful elektron seq ive used yet (have yet to try the TV though)

The matrix on the 5 is way better than the 6. It’s a win worth one less voice.

Are these the same cheeks that go on the take 5 from website?
ive only seen synthcraft ones for the keys version prior to finding these. so no, i dont believe they are on the sequential site, if thats what you mean
but these do fit either the take-5 or teo-5 desktop versions

It renders the T5’s mod matrix less flexible, all while having a positive effect on the mood matrix.

Got me hands on one of these. Holy crap, this seems to have the upsides of take5, with just the added flexibility I was left wanting. Also, plenty of facility for making it sound dusty and broken in all the right ways – not just for 80’s music.
Not sure if I think that this sounds TONS better or worse than the Take5, but I do like the flexibility, as mentioned, and definitely the variable filter.

Yeah, my TEO spends a lot of time in this territory. Combining TZFM with osc sync leads to some really unique sounds that fall apart depending on where you play.
It’s that kind of non linearity you can bake into a patch that makes this such a cool synth to me.
Some of my favorite sounds come from playing old digital synth and rompler engines outside of the “proper” ranges. Esq-1 comes to mind. TEO isn’t the same as that, but you can approximate many similar effects and beyond with more control and nuance.
You can amplify these effects further stacking note number modulations and also the per voice mod source (forgot the name) that gives you a kind of round robin repeating variance over the 5 voice count.

You can make nice sizzly Oberheim-esque sounds with DN2 with a bit of careful tweaking.
I’ve been making perc and a few other sounds with my TEO-5 all evening and buildng a kit in Tonverk with them. First time I’ve really tried making whole arrangements with a single synth in this way. It’s a good time.

Quick question if anyone knows the answer. On preset 315 - Life Is Clock, the note plays on release of the keys rather than immediately on pressing. Why is that and how is it set up?
