OB unstable with MOTU M4 on macOS Tahoe 26.0.1

Hi everyone,

I’m running into an issue with Overbridge on Mac. Everything was working perfectly yesterday. I was making music with my Syntakt and managed to record without any problem.
Today, nothing works properly. The audio is very unstable. It disappears and comes back at times. I’m having this issue with both my Syntakt and Digitone II.
I’ve already tried changing USB ports and hubs, but it didn’t help. I also noticed that Overbridge stops crashing when my MOTU M4 audio interface is not connected. I’ve never had this problem before.
I’m wondering if this might be related to the new macOS Tahoe 26 update.
Has anyone experienced something similar?

i’ll ask the obvious…
between yesterday and today , did you do the update to 26.0.1 ?
or is everything identicle.

do you have 2 x issues ?
1.overbridge is dropping out.
2.Motu m4 interface interferes with overbridge, ?

overbridge only supports up to os 15 sequoia officially.

Overbridge shows these instabilities only when I connect the MOTU M4 audio interface. What’s strange is that last week, on macOS 26.0.1, when I powered on only the Syntakt, I didn’t encounter this problem.

After several attempts, I noticed that the problem does not occur when I restart the Mac and connect only the Syntakt to Overbridge. But as soon as I turn on the Digitone II, the problem appears. And even if I disconnect the Digitone II and restart Ableton, Overbridge, etc., the problem still occurs even with only the Syntakt connected.

I had delayed installing update 26 and between version 26 and 26.0.1 I hadn’t made any music. Last week, after installing 26.0.1, I used the Syntakt and didn’t notice any issues. But this week, when I tried to use my Digitone II, nothing works anymore.

I tested with a Behringer UMC404HD and there are no issues with Overbridge for the Digitone II and Syntakt. It’s very mysterious.

In any case, I can confirm one thing: before update 26, everything worked fine.

Coming in from searching the internet for motu + tahoe 26.0.1 and have similar experiences.

since upgrading I get audio out drop outs. audio in works fine. following here incase you find a solution. im not using overbridge so am assuming it is an underlying motu driver / mac os issue

I’m currently in contact with support to find a solution. I’ll keep you updated

I tracked my issue done to poor usb c connection to my laptop - dock. I breathed on it and audio dropped out.

Plugged it in properly and in good for now.

So, might be worth double checking all your usb connections between moto and computer.

For my part, the problem doesn’t come from Overbridge itself. Overbridge with the Digitone II and Syntakt works fine without the MOTU. I’ve installed the latest firmware and driver, but it didn’t change anything. The MOTU also works perfectly fine on its own, without Overbridge. But thank you anyway.

We are on version Tahoe 26.3 and the issue is still not resolved. I’m saddened by this.

Overbridge isn’t officially supported on Tahoe.
