I love iPhone :joy:

I’m mostly pissed at how dirty NPR did Bernie back in the 2016 Dem primaries.

And I think tiny desk booking agents suck

Glad some folks can enjoy the corny pop music, we all have our weaknesses :cowboy_hat_face:

Not entirely sure what you’re watching, Ive seen some stunning acts on these things lots of jazz, cuban, some weird funk/avant garde, indie/lo-fi/psychedelic. Lots of highly talented players, proper fucking musicians.

Excellent performances, really nice mixing too (in my opinion)

To be fair I skip anything with just one or two people and acoustic guitars.

Corny pop music? I missed that one.

Now that’s entertainment.

Shared her on here before but Yasmin Williams did Tiny Desk yesterday and she’s as incredible as always. Love that she’s one of the greatest guitar players on the planet but remembers that you need melody and heart along with fireworks.

Stanley Clarke, master of the bass, on Tiny Desk!

EDIT: Listening to this now. The ensemble he’s got playing with him is f*'in incredible! Worth your time for sure.

Still killin’ it!

Here’s the younger Living Colour in their video for Cult of Personality nearly 37 years ago (typing that made me feel OLD!):

I think they look better now

Panda Bear played a tiny desk set a while ago. The new album sinister grift is great and the only thing I dislike about this set is the short length. The last song is an old Panda Bear song from the person pitch era that was never recorded, but turned into an animal collective song (guy’s eyes), and was now completely reworked again for this band set up and it’s just beautiful!

Edit: Bonus points for the sweater choice of the bass player.

Panda Bear is great and loving this, but doesn’t that first song sound an awful lot like a jangly indie rock version of karma police or do I need to get my ears checked??

I can hear some similarities, but wouldn’t have ever made a connection, if you hadn’t mentioned it. Somebody should do a mashup!

That would be sick. I’d like to hear it but probably hate to do it lol
