Nah Launchpad Mini Mk3 has been updated a few times, you can do all that I said, on custom layouts, its frickin great being able to use one template and have 16 versions available from the device itself.
Not only that, but each CC mapping is ‘remembered’ and has its own unique on/off status. Amazing!
The Launchkey colour thing I mean is that the Launchpads have 24 colours available but so many of those shades are missing from the Launchkeys pallette.
A small detail for most probably, but I’m building a big setup and digging in deep to get the most out of the controllers.
For instance, did you know, you can set it up so you press a pad on your Launchpad, and your Launch Controls XLs will all switch templates automatically.
Or stuff like, on the LCXL, you can actually change the colours of the factory templates by sending midi to them? You can get 8 shades too, red green yellow orange, plus half-bright versions of them.
Or you can press a key etc and send 8 user templates to the LCXL at once.
There’s quite a few things they do that just arent documented well enough.
Try sending CC1 to your LCXL and watch weird stuff happen
