Not sure how to set this up

Soon my AR arrives, but got some questions about setting it up.

My Setup consists of an Analog Four, Moog Sub Phatty and soon an Analog Rytm.
Ableton as DAW, and an Apogee Duet 2 soundcard.

When overbridge arrives in a couple of months the setup is clear:
AR and A4 both have their audio and midi connected to Ableton/DAW which sends the clock,
and my Sub Phatty to the Duet 2 input.

But what is the best way to set this up at this moment? I know that both the A4 and the AR doesnt do midi sequencing unfortunately. Is a MD, MM or OT really needed to sync these 2 and midi sequence them? (not enough funds now to buy one of these at this point)

You should be able to sequence the sub phatty using CV from the analog four, if that is what you are after.

But how to add/sequence the AR to these?

What do you do with Computer ? Music Production ? Live Performance ?
Because it’s not the same, also, we don’t know exactly what about features of Overbridge… so…

But for me probably Analog Rytm as Master so send midi clock via OUT to your Analog Four then midi thru to your Sub Phatty. You have kind of setup in the Analog Four of Manual.

I ask to the support something like that and they reply :
I would have the Octatrack as master and connect MIDI OUT to the Machinedrum MIDI IN and from the MIDI THRU on the Machinedrum to the MIDI IN on the Analog Four and from the MIDI THRU on the Analog Four to the MIDI IN on the Analog Rytm.

So… it’s not the same config it gives you the way of thinking your chain
AS long AS you keep the computer OUT of the chain you don’t have SYNC problem, if computer is a DEVICE like a MACHINE you will have some problem and worst in LIVE Performance. If Ableton live only command the Hardware as MIDI it should work… But until Overbridge here you will have problem with your duet to record all that (not at the same time)

If i set it up like you say AR as master, to A4, to Sub Phatty, will i be able to sequence the midi? None of these do sequence midi i thought… or am i wrong?

You could connect the A4 and AR using Midi, and then the Sub Phatty to A4 using CV. Here is and article for the CV connection http://analog.pen.io/

Also note that overbridge is only for sending audio to your computer. If you want to sequence on your computer to the AR or A4 or Sub Phatty, you can use Midi via. USB. This functionality already exist.
