Noob question about pitching external input inside the OT

Hay,
this may sound like a weird thread but i just created some synth sound with my A4 last week and randomly pitched down a recording of the synth inside a flex machine of the OT, which made it sound the way i desired it too.

This sound is much different to the sound i get when i pitch down the sound inside my A4.
I was wondering if there‘s some way to pitch down a thru machine input (in this case the external synth). I would like to create a workflow where I could get a direct pitched synthesizer output from the OT (for example: modulating the synthesizer on itself while hearing the output pitched by the OT in real time).

This would have the advantage, that i can perform live modulations on my synth, which I can‘t really do with the recording workflow (or can I?).

Thanks for the advice:)

You can do it by constantly recording the output of your through track (with that track muted) and playing back the record buffer on a different track (pitched down). What your hear will always be one cycle behind though.

Edit: saying that I tried it earlier and it didn’t work, so actually not too sure.

It’s impossible to do this in actual real-time. The closest would be to have a recording buffer running at trig 1, and then another track playing back the recording pitched down starting at trig 1.x (afaik), which might be close enough for your purposes but won’t be real-time.
