NOOB: midi sync my MFB-522

Hello Eleektronauts … a noob question, forgive me if it is dumb. I have a lot of these questions, so far I have been pleased at how patient Elektronauts are.

I want to play my MFB-522 drum machine into the A4II, but I can’t get it to sync to midi. I have clock send checked, but I can’t find anything else to do this. The 522 is set to channel 1. I can sequence the 522 from Ableton ok, but I hoped to be able to just play the two together sometimes.

I barely understand midi stuff yet, so please share your wisdom…

MIDI-Clock:

To switch between internal and external synchronization modes, press Play while switching the unit on. The mode will not be displayed.

Yes, the 522 is set to external.
