Noisy Headphone Out on DX7

Hi,

would anyone know possible causes for a noisy headphone out on a DX7? Even if the volume is turned down completely there‘s a very loud noise. The regular output is perfectly fine.

Thanks for any idea.

That’s just DX7’s mate.

It’s the same on all of them.

The DX7II’s headphone out is a little cleaner but still really lofi-- noise and DAC artifacts are all very heavily pronounced compared to main out

It‘s not just background noise but really very loud. Really no idea on what might need to get replaced (apart from the whole headphone board of course :slightly_smiling_face:

Get a Mackie 402VLZ4, put it on your DX and use its headphones out instead.

Yea, or maybe I just use a DX7 emulator VST. Should fix the problem too

Plogue Ops7 is the jam

Since this is a bit accurate implementation I‘m sure it‘s pretty close to the original.

Am using the Dixie App + Widi Master. It let‘s me design sounds in the App and either transfer it afterwards with the app itself or let the DX7 mimic every single parameter change even during the creation process. It‘s amazing!

Still I want to get the headphone out fixed so I‘ll be trying a new board I guess :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
