Hi, while I’m in the wait for my analog keys to come, just wanted to know, is there a way to accomplish this type of raw sound texture using noise generator as a modulation source. Hope that makes sense. Example in the vid (11:20):
Haven’t heard of it in any of the demos of the machine, but nonetheless. Thanks in advance.
There’s no noise source for that purpose, but you can make noisy-ish modulation sources from random fast lfos

you can try the following:
- setup an LFO with high speed and a random waveform
- assign this LFO to oscillator 1 Pitch Mod
- activate Oscillator 2 AM and turn OSC 1 Volume down
- turn up Oscillator 2
- play with the Depth of the LFO to adjust it to taste
It can work - but im not sure, as i dont have the A4 in front of me right now. I achieved something like this by accident a couple of days ago and if i remember right, the Oscillator AM was a key in that. I also have the KARP Odyssey and i know what you mean. This distinct Sound when you turn in the Noise Mod is just amazing on the ARP, generally that ARP Odyssey rocks like hell man!!! Although i must admit that switching Noise to Ring Mod on the ARP makes this sound even more crunchy
Dont think you will get the sound exactly like that on the A4. With the above however you might come close.

You can also modulate OSC WAV type to obtain weird noisy sounds.
yeah, your method was actually my plan B, except for the AM part. thanks!
