I bought a second hand Digitone 2 from Sweatwater that just arrived. As soon as i tested it there was no sound was coming out of the left channel. I tried the headphone output and the dedicated L and R outputs but still the same issue.
I have tried the following as well:
Factory reset
Update to latest firmware
Check audio routing on the settings
Check pan settings on the track level
Test out different cables, speakers, and headphones
None of these seem to solve the problem. I also noticed a hissing sound on the left channel when plugged in.
It’s probably the volume pot. Plug it into your computer and if you get left channel when recording or monitoring audio over USB send that beezy back.
You can try turning the volume pot all the way up and down and if the component is bad, you might get some sound out of the left channel at the top volume position or something but from what I’ve observed here, the issue probably won’t be resolved without replacing the component.
When I say plug it into your computer, I mean you need to enable USB midi/audio in the settings menu and then set it up as an audio interface into your daw or you could put it in overbridge mode and connect either via the standalone app or using the overbridge engine with the VST into your daw.
Setting it up as an audio interface using the usb midi/audio setting will be less work to set up though.
So i tried using overbridge. If i output the audio into my laptop speakers everything works fine. But if i route the audio back into the digitone i run into the same issue.
I also tried maxing out the level and volume knobs it only increases the hissing sound from the left channel.
Yeah im trying to get a hold of them to start a return which is a bit of a hassle since I bought from the US store and im alll the way here in the Philippines.
Well, it’s 10:30pm California time and they’re a couple of time zones over from here so I suspect that you won’t get them right now but your “Sweetwater sales engineer” will probably get back to you tomorrow. Even faster if you pretend you’re trying to buy something else
Just kidding, sort of.
I don’t know the cost of shipping from the Philippines to the US but that’s definitely not cool. I’d see if you can negotiate something since they sent you a damaged device. Probably the best advice I have unfortunately.
Sorry to hear about your troubles though. Might be cheaper to buy a $4 replacement pot and a soldering iron but let’s hope not.
