No +drive matches for xx

having a massive noob moment.
I used rytm only occasionally, so forgive me please.

I stumbled across a same thread on this from 2014, no resolution.

I am trying to load some sounds, synth lets say:

  • select first pad
  • go into sound browser
  • i go into “filter” choose the category “synth”.

I either get no+drive matches for BD or if i press round buttons, “no bank matches…”

I am certain this wasnt the case. probably had an accidental button press and since then its like this.
its as if the drive is empty, switching between them produces same results…

same as here:

I only get the 16 kicks in both the drive and pool.
sound manager has the exact same sounds.

losing my mind tbh.
am I tripping?
there are other sounds besides kicks, snares, toms and hats in the default library right?
the factory kits have a bunch of other sounds but I cant seem to access them…

never seen this but maybe there’s active filter? like locked on hihat and you’re looking at BD track?

I appreciate you replying.

no filter is on, I keep checking.
did a factory reset, loaded different project…

I just get the same bd, tom, snare etc.
2014 thread was resolved after updating but I am already on 1.7

super weird, is it mk1? and is it only on BD track or other tracks too?

the only way I can see this message is either filter or search is on, don’t know, maybe it’s persistent somehow, so perhaps switching to a new filter or search can help clear it…

yeah its weird.

I just want to see if I am being an idiot before contacting elektron directly.

no problem! yeah it seems that worth opening a ticket, I’m on mk2 1.70 but haven’t seen this behavior ever, btw when you do a factory reset does it reset to 1.70 or older firmware?

that is a really good question, just checked.

1.70 is booted.

so factory reset is not real factory reset, probably just wiping out the projects/+drive, I would open a ticket for sure before maybe trying to downgrade the OS…

There’s two resets. One leaves the projects/+Drive intact. I forget the names of each. I only remember that the one which seems like it should clear everything, doesn’t.

good to know, but unless you can reset it to previous OS the some things are probably not getting reset, still worth opening a ticket before doing any more resets

correct.
there is “empty reset” which deletes the factory patterns aswell. I will try it but the point is having the sounds in the pool which might get emptied aswell…

In any case, I appreciate you guys replying.
I am in contact with the support regarding the other stuff, they seem to be swamped atm.

will do just that.

the os is on the machine bios afaik, the other sounds and settings in the ram, which can be user modified, unlike the rom.
