That means being able to perform 90+ minutes, making highly progressive music that doesn’t get stale, and have a synth rig that can be set up/broken down easily.
I’m looking for very serious folk like myself who want to gig out and start a scene.
We held a weekly [Saturday] residency in Brooklyn NYC last year and I’m starting to book around venues in the East Coast. This is not a big thing…yet…but I’ve been putting a lot of work into this brand and it seems to be responded to either very positively or negatively.
Ableton Live sets will be allowed so long as you are clearly performing something live and with a crafted technique - I do not want any audience members to doubt where the music comes from at a NO DJs ALLOWED event (something that is more and more common with DJs). I want to give the stage and the spotlight back to musicians and producers.
i frequently visit NYC so even though i probably am not up to snuff lately to perform i would love to come out and support, especially if there are fellow Elektronauts playing. Make sure you share the info here! would love to time it nicely to check it out
Thanks!! Right now I’ve got NO DJs ALLOWED shows booked in Ithaca, NY on April 3rd and in Brooklyn at Hart Bar on May 22nd! If you know anybody who is “up to snuff”, send them my way! Orrrr, if you’re looking for some honest and constructive criticism of your live sets, please send one to me! I love criticism of my own art (it inspires me) and I’m hoping to provide that feeling for others
You rock! thanks for doing this. I’ll probably take u up on that offer, much appreciated.
this is a great thing you’re doing and i will try to make it out for the May 22nd show. will start saving some of my loonies and toonies here in Canada for then
