NI Kontakt Free vs Paid

I’ve recently come across some videos of Addictive Drums, EZ Drummer, etc., and I’m finding myself surprisingly impressed with what I’m hearing.

One thing that’s popped up on my radar is Abbey Road drums for Kontakt. From what I read on their website, the free version of Kontakt means you can’t change parameters? Does this sound right? So if I get the free version of Kontakt, then buy those Abbey Road drums, I won’t be able to adjust any of the sounds?

Anyone have experience with this kind of stuff?

Also anyone have any recommendations for software drums in general?

Yes if you don’t own kontakt they will still load in the free ‘kontakt player’
As I own kontakt I’ve never used the player so don’t know its limitations unfortunately.
Googling should reveal exactly the ‘players’ limitations compared to the full paid version.
As for recommendations, I use Battery personally
