This in an Eurorack case would be a fantastic addition to an Analog Keys. Hhmmmm

want! this looks great

:astonished: ok, i’ll need to remove a post in the other waldorf topic  …this is really nice! i still haven’t had a chance to join the modular world but i start to feel the urge for something, even just one module but i’m scared of ending in a never ending spiral :sob: :joy: heard of many cases of house/job/sleep loss  :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

oh yeahh routed thru the filters

Facts
eurocrack is a potent drug :imp:

Many semi-modular options are available, a bit like a gateway to the real deal, but you’re not so likely to be itching to fill or swap from rack space, there won’t be rack space ! Something like the doepfer dark energy, i have the first one, which is also a euro module (with added midi) and there are lots more of that config with more patching points, say pittsburgh or mfb. Or get a small doepfer case, about th size of a dark energy, 4 modules max ! Then again, you can pick up a microbrute for the price of a single module and do a bit of patching with that !

…actually, i’ve made my first step towards modulars: got myself an arturia beatstep which has CV/Gate out  :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

yep, looked at the darkenergy and microbrute as options but a visit to the schneiders büro made me change mind  together with the fact that i would need even more time and at the moment i can’t seem to have enough of it and making music is slipping at the bottom of the list :expressionless: so i’ll probably have to wait for better times

I’ve been resisting the eurocrack urge for a while, but this thing is going to probably push me over the edge.

Nasty.

Nw1 owners, Hows it treating you after all this time?

I have an opportunity to get one on the cheap and was wondering how it’s held up, quality-wise and against the competition. Should I snatch this up (around $280ish) or save up for a E352?

It appears that the NW1 and the E352 are different beasts. If what you are after is wavetables, then the E352 will probably take you further. Its sound palette is immense.

The Waldorf seems dedicated to their particular sound, which many people love. But I think the only real advantage it has over the E352 is its ability to record external sounds from the front panel and then wave-shape them as unique wavetables. If thats what youre after, then go with the NW1.

However: even a modest eurorack will cost you about a grand. If wavetables are what you are after generally, it may be worth it to wait to see how Malekko’s BFF sounds.

Definitely save for the E352.
It’s my favourite euro oscillator.
Does a lot more than just wavetable.
Sounds incredible

Cool. Thanks for the input. I got the NW1 and I’m loving it. No regrets. I’m not opposed to getting a e352 at some point. Although, I should probably expand my filter collection before buying anymore oscillators. That Waldorf VCF1 would look nice next to the NW1.
