What is this? I’m out of the loop.
Same, curious.
New Kick and Snare machines on the RYTM. They’re supposed to sound like “acoustic” drums. They can but it’s not exactly physical modeling or what you’d expect. They do sound good though, and can get a little weird.
I remember owning a Syntakt! Man, I hope this comes true. Chip rules
Oh…please lawd, no. I can’t handle 258 posts of benchmark tests between the new Syntakt machines and the old MachineDrum machines.
Hopefully a ‘machine shop’ is elektrons next venture. Makes sense if reasonably priced.
Trying to think of an Elektron style name for it… something to do with working on / buying sounds… something like tone… tone works?
Elektron going down the SaaS/DLC route is the last thing I’d want from them tbh, easy way to destroy customer relations
I do not get why they are implementing the same machines of Rytm into Syntakt
Maybe they want to make Rytm redundant at some point
I’m hoping for some crazy sounding digital machines, don’t care too much for the analog stuff
I don’t get why you don’t get it.
The Syntakt had RYTM machines to begin with, then the RYTM got some Syntakt machines and now Syntakt is getting some back. I don’t see an issue.
well I mentioned my guess- cause they will retire Rytm at some point
not an issue, but why not bringing new ideas?
When Syntakt launched, it already had all 6 of the machines from Model:Cycles essentially copied in as well. Elektron doesn’t mind reusing machines on new devices, and I think it makes sense. If the sound algorithms are already solid, then why not port them over?
I don’t know that it implies anything about Rytm being retired.
Yes, Elektron will retire all of their devices at some point
They will retire TonVerk at some point…
Octatrack is still there !
New ideas would go to the Tonverk, as it’s on their new platform, whereas Syntakt is like a compilation of their previous products based on their old platform, almost like a greatest hits box.
Saying that we don’t even know what’s coming in the next update, so we’re probably better off waiting to see instead of moaning about the unknown.
I hope they have something else to offer too. I feel like chiptune is something that the Syntakt is already good at so not sure how this widens the palette at all.
