ahhh my mistake, i assumed plug outs were specifically a part of the roland cloud experience. the px-1 sounds pretty cool too!
ya know what, after looking at the available fx on the EX-4, its not really what im looking for. its definitely geared towards guitarists, its not the 404-type little fx box i wanted it to be
Interesting thought. Would be interesting if someone would compare the sound of the different algorithms with the Zen-core fx algo’s.
I also wonder if this new fx box will behave well with line level signals instead of instrument level?
check the specifications for line level compatibillity (dBu, impedance)
I liked the marketing line on the EX-4 that wasn’t ‘hey get a multi-fx and you don’t need a pedal board’ but rather was ‘yo, get a multi-fx and save space on your pedalboard’ haha. I mean it’s bang on.
I was hoping that this had dual stereo i/o as a competitor to the H90 (from an independent routing POV) but sadly not.
Get a second hand mc707 if you want that , you can run about 13fx at the same time.
You have two sends , effect in the scatter , just bypass the scatter part if you want.
You can run each channel into the next to link fx and multiple filter and automate them.
Then you have a master fx and master comp.
Probably worth the £500 on the secondhand market just for that and the automation. Then you can change fx type per audio clip.
It’s like the ultimate fx sequencer
that sounds cool and ive considered one before for other reasons but its just got too much going on for me. im really digging no screen interfaces these days. im probably just gonna end up experimenting with a bunch of cheapo pedals or try building my own
The sounds is way too clean for me, missing that vintage grunge
Not panning out as hoped ![]()
This post from a couple days ago has some speculation on it; sounds like it might be the new Roland device in use? Could be unrelated though.
No minion sounds, the sp404 minion edition dream is dead.

So it’s a device that won’t let you stop making music. I won’t buy it. Sounds a bit unhealthy to me.
This makes me lean MC-1000 over MX-2.
Is there a reason we know it is Roland? Sounds great!! My kind of music!
Vibe guess
Oooh it’s the Roland SP-4040
A Roland take on the SP1200 with concepts taken from the TR-1000 and SP-404
Edit: I’m really just grasping at straws here
I can’t think of anything worse. There’d be no time to speculate on Elektronauts. Such circumstances would be an unbearable turn of events. I blame AI for this madness.
It must be the Walter white edition🤣
