New Roland JP-8000 line or JP-8000 clone

Good shout, i think it’s the same engine in both but as you say the 101 is very menu-divey so sh4d’ll be more fun

Gonna try this later. Not really a supersaw fan but I like learning stuff.

You could always try one of these:

How is the minilogue xd overall? Versatile for a variety of sounds?

Modulation wise not much to brag about, it’s close to a minimoog modulation wise. but there’s a lot of 3rd party fx and oscillators that kind of makes up for some of that lack

Edit: so flexibility wise the hydra wins big time

Is it available yet? Also, I wasn’t enthralled by the demos but if it delivers JP authentic supersaws I’ll be the first in line

Another option that is budget adjacent, especially if second hand, is the Arturia Mini Freak.

No talking as it was late and night and kids were asleep so you have to watch carefully

Doesnt need talking. Was quite clear.

Loved this talk. Incredibly smart stuff and very well presented

MC-707 has supersaw and also JP filter emulation. System-8 has a bit of a different flavor than zencore stuff like 707 or Junos.

The Usual Suspects have just cloned this, released a few days ago:

It’s great to use and sounds lovely!

An incredible feat what they’ve managed here

There an interesting video on what they did in reverse engineering the customer DSP chip in the 8000 and 8080

Whoops sorry seen this was already posted (albeit via twitter which is going to put a lot of people off)
