For all those loving (or hating) the current Novation Launch controllers what would you like to see in a new series?
Let’s see what our hopes are and what we end up with when they ever release a new series.

We chattin pads or knobs?
Speaking of LC XL MK2 - less resistance on knobs and especially faders and buttons (it’s hard to make quick moves), no center gap on knobs (and faders), midi out, more control options (it only sends CC and notes).
Basically I would like it to be designed as a performance controller (for hardware or DAW) instead of mixing console for Ableton.
Mpe
Ignore that, just realised it’s control series
Ah yes of course MIDI out. Gotta have that!
NRPN would seem a basic requirement, at least a row of endless encoders, actual midi ports and the option for a midi loopback to refresh the encoder position on adjustment.
Oh, and if they are going to include 8 factory preset pages, at least put an option so switching to the next bank jumps you forward 8 instruments in Ableton.
And a manual would be nice, Novation. You know, those things where you put the information about the item in? Instead of a useless ‘quick start guide’, I mean. I actually had to ask a company rep to find out what the difference in the factory pages actually is.
Free pizza.
Addressing the main issues I have with it would be:
Nice to have:
I have mixed feelings about it though.
I think it would be important to keep it in a similar price range as it is now. Much more than this, and I’d probably be looking at other controllers.
Eye-tracking movement. Hard to use my hands while I’m eating.
Oh and AI for controlling knobs. Slap that bad boy on everything.
You might wanna read the topic title again.
Endless encoders for me too.
Oops
It says release date is 8th may which is also day one of super booth so could be
Finally!
Holy shit finally. Happy for this to exist but probably won’t upgrade.
I actually think endless encoders aren’t for me here. I’d love midi learn or app-based editing but it’s never been too bad with Components. Obviously trs or din midi would be cool too.
RGB is probably my most needed feature haha.
Hope this brings down the street value of the mk2.
I love the resistance as it feels quality. but agree it’s a little too stiff
Fingers crossed this has MIDI in & out over mini-jack and not just via USB.
+1
