New Elektron Box 2016

what do you expect, they give us dogs a bone

they are rather technicians than salesman, but as the company is growing, an advanced image-management is needed

many years ago i worked for the sales-department of company with focus on CAD/CAM/Engineering including hardware. My former boss praised the image of the company as pure craftsmanship in this part of the industry. But the constant growing and success needed a more sophisticated communication to our customers and future-customers and of course our competition. Clever marketing was the point and it worked.

anyway … i hope they will read some of the lines people have written here

I think we killed it.
Picture yourself, back from holidays, looking at what happened during your leaving while scratching your neck…
Would you really read 1300 pointless comments ?
Or hit the ā€œMark as read buttonā€ while yawning, plug an Elektron machine and go fetch the camera to make a new teaser, just for fun ?

The cruel irony of all this chit-chat and ā€˜are we there yet?’ commentary is that the marketing dept don’t have to do anything to keep you lot hooked … I bet if you all went quiet there’d be more news, to keep the momentum of expectation alive … just sayin’

Or they really know their target: obsessive, hitting F5 every 5 minutes, opinionated, guessers

seems also possible

I hear ya. I think it’s as far as a workflow is concerned it’ll be similar. I’m thinking plocks without the sequencer. Live record in, not shuffling through pages and programming in beats and riffs. The RYTM has pads to finger drum beats in, but that’s it. The MPC was a production center, the RYTM was just a drum computer.

So, maybe, saying it was going to be a new MPC was a less accurate means of saying its a production center.

Surely, something studio focused that is open to people using acoustical instruments would be down this line. The Elektron flow is useful for making music away from the computer, but a finished piece still requires a computer to complete tracks in. I think their gonna limit the need for the computer and with OB make the computers reintroduction of it amazing

I buy this. This is so next step for Ekektron.

Overbridge Portastudio - battery powered 8 tracks simultaneous record untethered; usb to PC as vst sound card.

Killer feature: 6v/12v power out from the Portastudio to run 2 other elektron boxes (while being a hipster on the bus, taking up 2 seats, making beats)

When it comes to positioning and communication, Elektron is leading the pack. They know exactly what they’re doing. That we don’t think so, is just part of the mind game.

elektron doesnt really strike me as a company with a extensive ā€œsocial mediaā€ dept. and im totally fine with that… i prefer it actually

i expect their marketing to be like this… as in, not close to the industry standards

In my opinion Elektron is going to fast for a new machine, i rather would like to see more new drum engines in the Rytm. Or a way that we can create some custom drum engines via Overbridge for the Rytm. The Rytm drum engine editor

They won’t release it til next years NAMM so y’all should just chillax. :3lektron:

New teaser video … this time we see the whole box and hear what it can do …

Wonder if Sonic State podcast is skipped this week because Cenk is filming the big reveal with Nick. That happened with the Analog 4 from memory.

This Friday, for sure. Was there ever any doubt? or, as the crystal method might say - ā€œkeep hope aliveā€
