New community MnM firmware

Yep!

A more flexible poly mode would be my biggest wish, where you can add voices to a voice pool? That way you could use fx on poly sounds, or combine mono and poly tracks. A bit like the voice groups on the Morphor Echon 6. Maybe in a neighbor track construction where you can add voices to a track that are next to it?

Which bugs did you encounter?
This still holds me back to update…

Cheers!

Those are mostly bugs in the sequencer, in step and live recording modes. In my case the steps weren’t recorded as they should in live rec, also I think that I noticed ā€œghostā€ deleted steps in step editing. But all these bugs seems to have already been reported on em’s github repository.

I will rollback to the last official OS for now, but I am eager to test incoming em’s OS updates!

anybody knows that if we upgrade to this community firmware , it will be possible to still read current snapshots already inside the monomachine ?
also if you donwgrade , will these snashots would be readable again with the official firmware ? this is important for me because i have more than 20 snapshots inside that i do not want to loose …

i can still read the original firmware snapshots on the new firmware, but i’m not sure about the other way around since there are features that don’t exist on the original firmware.
Also, although the original snapshots are accessible on the new firmware it’s highly recommended that you make backups of them before flashing the new firmware just in case.

I haven’t any issue with the snapshots after rollbacking to official OS. I even duplicated a snapshot with em’s OS which remains completely normal with the old OS. I guess that there can be risks only if you modify the snapshots (or not, as I noticed), but nothing to worry about if you read only, I guess. Anyway, a quick sysex export before trying isn’t a bad idea !

Just did the first test drive - and just can say THANK YOU

This takes the machine to a completely new level.
Anybody tried on a MKI successfully?

Cheers

I installed it on my MK1 and all seems smooth so far.

Ok I tried the last beta and it’s impressive. Now it is really the best Elektron all-around. I wish someone could implement those features on MD (because I don’t like megacommand). The only two things I would like are the phase resetting for the oscillators and the possibility of p-lock arp settings.

Ok. I am not sure if its bandwidth, cables or whatever. I just can’t import the OS. It fails somewhere through the first 15 minutes… I have a MK 2. but it has always been a bit indifferent to MIDI

Hi! To help you, I need to clarify the following:

  1. What MIDI interface are you using?
  2. Are the MIDI cables and their DIN connectors in good condition?
  3. Does a similar problem occur if, for example, you try to send a SysEx data backup from the MNM to your computer and then back again?

Thanks, Judah. I am using a CMG C2 MIDI PRO from my Mac. I will follow your advice and see how I go. Regards, Henry

Hi all, I have released a new beta, 26711-beta. :slightly_smiling_face:

It mostly contains bug fixes, particularly for SPP & POLY mode - you can read the changelog here. Work is still focused on the current feature set.

If you have any issues to report please continue creating issues on GitHub as it’s easier for me to manage them there.
