I like the idea of using this as a nice little independent mixer and plugging that into the audio in of my maxed out Motus. I hope to get all my gear wired up someday so that I can just turn it on and go.

Can you expand them / double up etc?
There are plans to make it possible to double the amount of I/O by adding another layer. In this case, the sample rate would be limited to 48khz.

I was more or less a bystander while Martin (the developer) was fighting with the PCB design and the manufacturer. In the meanwhile I almost forgot that this thing is under my board the whole time, silently doing it’s duty. It survived quite some traveling for more than a year and I also did a major gig with it.

@klaustrophil congrats on bringing the product to market - amazing achievement.
One question: are there any plans for standalone functionality (i.e. configure levels, sends/return, … and then having the interface run standalone without a host)?
I have always hard time to qualify something as stand alone if you have to set it up before hands and cannot touch the levels or anything else during the show. I guess you can do so as long it’s powered by like a USB powerbank but I struggle to see the interest in live conditions.
As it has MIDI ports, maybe support for a MIDI controller could be added, with faders mapped to volume for instance. I had an RME UFX II that supported this standalone and I think the Arturia 16Rig does too.

A related question - on some of the product pictures on the homepage it shows a separate ‘USB’ and ‘PWR’, but other pics only have ‘USB’. See below two pictures where the second lacks the separate power. Will it have power separate or over USB only?
If power supply is separate, that would open up additional possibilities for USB. One thing that could be interesting for example is a little screen that shows data. Retrokits has a cool little screen designed to plug into music gear called the Retrovision.
So this released. I live in the USA and bought one from Thomann. I just got the import fees from UPS and they are saying over 50% of the initial cost instead of 15%! I filled out a form to dispute this but then saw a $120 fee for UPS to dispute the fee…so whack. I am going to have to cancel unfortunately as this is too nutty.

I’m sorry that tariffs are playing such havoc with you! If it’s any consolation, I really can’t import anything from outside the EU without risking serious hassle. I would like some experience reports from this gear but I’ve seen none so far.

i was trying to buy a a couple pcbs, empty non populated pcbs, from Deutschland to the US.
they were ~49$ bucks US each, but after tariffs and DHL’s brokerage fees for the tariffs, they were ~149$ each.
F. That.
so here i am trying to learn kicad and clone the damn things, which isnt going too well, and only to find out the 5 boards for 5$ from pcbway or JLCPCB are are just as bad if not worse tariff wise.
i havent even bother to look what it would be for the MAT 16x8.
i could prolly fly there and pick it up in person for cheaper. 
(edit: if anyone knows kicad and wouldnt mind giving me some pointer or direction, i’d greatly appreciate it 
)
