Neuzeit Instruments Drop

Did you update to the latest firmware? I was having a similar issue early on but it got fixed

1.08 is my firmware. What do you have?

1.08 is the latest.

1.08. I have set faders to Layer A Only and Curve to Linear. All faders green when saving. Are you able to use Drop to a snapshot without every fader turn to max?

My Drop arrived, and I mainly use it for Digitakt and Nord Drum 3P. I’m not really sure how to map everything.
I have Drop set as the master, but the BPM on the Digitakt fluctuates a bit. I think that’s normal, though. Or should I set Digitakt as the clock?
My layout looks like this:
Row 1: Filter Tracks 1-8
Row 2: Mod wheel for Macros Tracks 1-8
Row 3: Macros for Nord Drum My problem is that if you don’t use the Digitakt’s macros (mod wheel), the macros on Drop change the entire settings on Digitakt . So, I’ll probably have to delete the row with the filters since I saved different filter settings for each track. If you reset the filter on Drop, it obviously doesn’t know the value that was saved in the pattern. Or is there a setting for that on Drop? Otherwise, I only see the point in using the Digitakt’s internal macros with drop. I would actually like to have a global setup for all my patterns on the Digitakt.

How Look your macros for the Digi ā€šs?
I want to have a FX Macro on drop.

I’m using it with Tonverk & DN2 so a bit different:

I’m still experimenting but…

I have one of the 3 TV effect send on the faders for each of the 8 tracks for a little performance flourish. Reverb on kick, delay on snares or hats, that kind of thing.

The buttons are temporary mutes while pressed

Ive used some encoders for Euclidean sequencing on the DN2, click on/off and twist for parameters.

Some encoders for combos on TV of filters/fx or whatever I’ve found relevant to the specific pattern. The other stuff is a template and I add this last bit as required.

It’s quite intuitive but also RTFM is a must.

Yes, working fine on my end. I’m using the fader to swap pattern mutes for a column (1&9, 2&10, etc) and using the ā€œmuteā€ buttons to control global mutes together for a column. I’m not using any midi feedback though, maybe that’s where the issue is?

Just makng sure, have you added the faders in select mode when editing the snapshot?
Page 34 of the manual goes over it.

Anything more than that? I will try install the firmware again today.

Yep, I read the manual but I’m sure, if it’s not a bug, I must have done something wrong or perhaps expect something else because it seems to be a very intuitive machine.

It’ll be something in the setup of the action as the guy above suggested I reckon. You’ll find it. :fist:t2:

I am sure it will be solved. Strange thing is that faders and Jumps works perfect, but not faders and Drops.

Have you sent a message to Neuzeit? He’s been very responsive and helped me through an issue earlier on

Perhaps I will do that. I will try to do a little more tests first. Could be Alphabase that is causing the problem, it’s not a bugfree machine.

Solved! I mapped mute (CC-0-127) to the buttons. When pushed 0 and not pushed 127. That made the volume go from 0 to 127 every Drop cycle because I had chosen them green in Savemode. Now everything works as it should.

Ive just put mine on Reverb. This might sound weird but im finding it so addictive i’m spending more time looking for clever Drop scenes than I am writing anything. I’ll come back to it at a later date. Also wouldn’t mind the money rather than it be in a box on the shelf taunting me

Wait…You got rid of the Drop because you were having too much fun with it?

By ā€œlooking for clever Drop scenesā€ do you mean you found yourself crafting your music around the musical notion of the drop rather than just writing music?

Mate don’t sell it the DROP is f00king amazing. You’ll be kicking yourself once it’s gone. Only had mine less than a week and I couldn’t live without it now. 8 controllers per knob  and 1 knob could be assigned to control a midi cc from 8 different synths if you want. The Dop is my best investment this year so far. Love it 11/10 :ok_hand:

Ha yes I realise how daft that sounds.

Pretty much yep. It’s eating up the precious half hour or hour a day I can squeeze in. My mission for this year is to conquer Tonverk to whatever degree Im able to. Since Drop arrived ive been messing with loops rather than finishing anything.

I’ll probably rebuy further down the line after ive got a bunch of tracks im happy with. It was too soon to bring it in tbh. Its been fun though :grinning:

OH I know. It’s like having 60 Octatrack crossfaders. Its a revelation.
