Bumping this thread - anyone here have any experience with these?
I’m currently using a Tascam Model 16 to record my synths and jams and am in the market for a smaller, more portable, and higher quality interface with good preamps/converters.
I’m eyeing either this or the RME UCX II, which has wayyyy more features for a comparable price. Actually due to an employee discount I could get the MT48 for around 900€, so the RME would be a few hundred € more than that, even used they’re around 1100€+…
The reviews of the MT-48 say the converters sound amazing, best recordings ever, insane clarity, a step above RME, yadda yadda. So - pretty cool I could get it at such a discount, but to be honest the UCX II added features - direct-to-USB recording (for jams away from home), TotalMix, more I/O… plus the fact RME already is pretty ‘high quality’ in terms of audio quality, seems like a nice package for me for just a few hundred € more… and I’m really not sure if my ears could detect the audio quality difference. But i wonder if I’d be foolish not to take advantage of such a discount.
Would love to hear from anyone who’s used both RME and MT-48!
