When I get chance, I’ll fire up the demo and check what’s happening at a CPU level, re: cores etc.
Looks like roughly 30%, evenly spread across 6 cores, but only using 1 side of the hyper-threading system. Could be that Ableton doesn’t support hyper-threading, since I’m not seeing any activity on the other side of each core. That’s running at 48KHz. 44.1KHz is down to 26%.
Disabling sounds or effects, doesn’t appear to make a difference.
So - it does look like a very CPU hungry plug-in.
In other news, just trying it through my small PA. Bass is sounding great. Kicks, might need a bit of EQing.
My new favorite plug-in.
And you can import your own samples, that don’t have to be kicks
CPU hog: yes. I’m bouncing long ‘takes’ to audio.
I’m hoping that NI can do something about the CPU bandwidth hogging, but wouldn’t want to bet on it.
One thing I would like to see though, is separate outputs for kick and bass. Demo ran out, before I could check if that’s possible. Anyone got an answer to that one?

Yes 6core, 64Gb RAM. Standalone Reaktor.
I’m not privy to your music making process but I played a lot of your records in the past and still listen to a lot of your music today. You should get this! I can see you making some rad stuff with it.
Seriously. It’s an Elektron in a computer.
For info, TRK-01 has just been updated to v1.01. Not sure what’s different or fixed.
Overbridge enabled, obv
The release notes only mention "IMPROVED info hints ".
Wow, nice studio! Also off topic - I recognise the name, did you used to DJ psytrance in Leeds?
Hi. Yep - I did and still do DJ, but not so much in Leeds any more. Our more regular Cabbage gigs are now over in Hebden Bridge. The old venue (West Indian Centre) has too many restrictions these days - for us at any rate.
It’s Cabbage’s 20th Anniversary in September, so we’re doing a full weekender at HB Trades Club.
Nice one! Had some fun times at Cabbage
The strange thing i’m now seeing, is 30% CPU on my old 2011 MacBook Pro (i7)!?
Suggests that something, somewhere, isn’t quite right.
yes ableton cpu meter is also at 30% on my macbook air,
my impressions so far
nice versatile sound and fx, easy to program sequencer, nice workflow
but no input of midi notes from the host and the fx arent mono in the lower bass frequencies, which prevents me from using delay and modulation fx
I suggest you can use Ableton’S EQ-8 it has a M/S-function for monoing the low end
yes, of course, or Abletons new util, but this does its magic AFTER the FX from trk01. but I would like delay and modulation to stay completely away from certain subfrequencies. Unfortunately you cant feed any audio into trk-01 to use just its fx.
Exactly what I was going to suggest
For info, TRK-01 has just had an update, including a feature to sequence from your DAW.
It’s free 99
