I have been interested in Maschine and M+ from time to time but I think this update killed my interest for good. What a pititul excuse of an update for jumping up a version number.
yeah this was kind of a lame duck, compared to MPC this seems underwhelming?.
very underwhelming indeed especially after such a long time…
nothing about smooth automation curves, still can’t crop patterns or edit chord sets
still can’t record midi CCs from my external controller (even though the knobs move and respond in the UI already sigh)
Meh. Holding off until we know more about M+ support.
I’m good with Push+Abelton workflow. I’ve never gelled with the Maschine desktop workflow. It’s fast, but not too my liking since I’m so comfortable in Live.
This is definitely a highlight, my personal most wanted feature.
And my next favorite, which is only mentioned in passing,
Scene Tempo. at last, I think it’s great.
The new (old) multisamples are also ok, save me a lot of work sampling all the kontact libraries. But it would have been cooler if NI had also made an app for creating such libraries. That’s no fun in the Maschine software.
I personally don’t need stem separation and if I do, I have a better solution with Spectral Layers (imo). NI just had to deliver . But I have to admit that such an option in the software can also be useful.
Is the update good now, no for me, because I use maschine+ and get nothing (yet). ![]()
I can live without the update
their apology letters are better
You know what. I stand corrected. Just watch the NI overview video for Maschine3.0. I’m going to pick it up. Looks like we get BM3 and more with it for the desktop. Really impressive update.
Man. I love being surprised.

I hope it will support MPE or Poly AT at some point. Right now it just ignores it completely.
Also for some reason it does not support midi program changes with Bank Select.
But I will buy it. When the website becomes responsive again
Good upgrade price!
I was just coming over here to say this.
And still hoping for an iPad version! That would be too cool!
I appreciate some of the things in this update for sure, and $29 is very reasonable for what you get IMO
But, dang - NI is really allergic to custom chord sets for some reason, eh? I would have thought that would have been real some low-hanging fruit they could knock off that people would really appreciate
Yeah, there’s MANY things people have been asking for years to be included and instead we get mediocre stem separate that the $10 Koala app can do.
I am just happy they do not drop Maschine at all and stick to it. Might be stupid but I just joined the club like 2 years ago and I love it. I have not been so creative on any other device or daw. For a full track. Next is Digitakt.
Maschine hardware and workflow are good, really good. They’ve just stopped to improve that and it feels outdated in comparison with competitors.
I own MPC Live 2, Push 3, Octatrack, and bunch of other hardware and software, but Maschine workflow is still the best for me despite the fact that it collects dust in a closet.
UPD: and that makes the situation even more sad. Such potential in wrong hands.
I like what I see in the update but I may hold off until it is Plus compatible. Bouncing, track tempo, a sub-library that is not overloaded with effects on every track. Exactly what Maschine+ needs. It is a decent price. I’m hoping that this is the beginning of made for Maschine+ sound packs. While their current expansion packs sound good they are way over produced. Effects on every channel really bogs down Maschine+ and reworking all the effects is a lot of unnecessary work.
Have NI said if the VST plugin version of Maschine 3 is ready too?
Yeah, the plugin/controller mode are coming first with maschine + support coming later
I know the machine 3 software is (hopefully) coming to the plus in the future, but does Maschine Central load onto the plus since it’s only content?
YES! I bought CS-80 V last year and was so annoyed by that.
