People thinking the Tonverk is coming soon need to remember this, end of 2025 it could possibly come to light, but they’ve got a lot of work to do on the DT2 and DN2 first
Except for that time with the boxes outside a store and the weird pics from someone living off a van. Member that? I member.
Any ideas about when exactly we’ll hear the news from akai? Iirc the convention starts today. Does it mean we’ll get the news by tonight maybe?
Sure, but how do you think they are going to pay for doing those improvements on the DT2 and DN2?
Answer: By selling some Tonverks!
Yeah, Tonverk could be more than a year out, but it’s anyone’s guess at this point. What’s true though is that they just released DN2, and the DT2 not long before that, so I’d assume they want to focus on those two at this event.
A new syntax might be interesting though, I’m really fond of the 128 steps

Is NAMM quiet this year?
Au contraire! It’s probably a very loud cacophony for everyone inside, as loud as any other year, probably.
I meant in regards to new releases
I know
Assuming Thursday will be the day. As @Jukka explained above, they added two days upfront for the event.
To be a fly on the wall for the “quiet” part.
ADDED : For one thing, all the influencers that NAMM has attracted ( i.e. a large booth just for influencers, with equipment and support – i posted on this up thread ), they’ll be cranking away doing gear videos and interviews for the first two days, so we can see the videos sooner, and without the cacophony, and hopefully while the show is still running, as opposed to the delays ( sometimes weeks ) as the videos get completed. We’ll see how well this all comes together.
They have a video tour of the booth getting set up on their FB page, the booth is right there near an entrance, and it is really large, you can see how it is sectioned off for various divisions. Plus it has an apartment size second floor. ( Looked for a video to post here … not yet. )
Super cool! It is a clever idea. I could imagine using it with a PC and Ableton as my only interface.
I am looking for a portable interface, but unfortunately i would like it to be a bit smaller.
Before anyone gets too excited, it’s from the section of the Korg NAMM page with the following text above it…
In addition to our new releases, KORG will showcase a selection of concept prototypes—products in their exploratory phase that push the boundaries of what’s possible in music creation. These prototypes represent our vision for the future and invite feedback from the music community. While these concepts may or may not be destined for commercialization, we’re excited to share our ideas and gather inspiration from the incredible NAMM audience.
Did that acoustic synth prototype from last year go anywhere?
