NAMM 2026 - January 20 - 24

For the Gen Z Billy Joel …

The Korg Liano LIVE ! with Everything you need to stream in one box ( they tell us specifically TikTok, Instagram Live, and YouTube )

… and even a three-month premium plan trial for “Skoove” online piano lessons to get you ready. You get to do the scrunchy *hey-this-is-difficult" streaming faces yourself.

This is a follow on to their previous Liano keyboard product.

All cringy sarcasm aside, this looks like a nice product from Korg.

It’s also affordable too like the Yamaha PSRs above.

( Affordability, it’s not a hoax Gramps. )

The “when implemented by library creators” is an important part of this.

Also perhaps for controller interface creators too like ROLI for performance.

The USB-B port bothers me more than the RCA jacks.

True. Most of us would rush the gates if they said Nord Modular G3 or Nord Lead A2 / 5. I think the Lead A1 sells well so hopefully there’s a future iteration. The 5 is a pipe dream.

Is this the same synth section thats on the Nord Stage3?

its just half the size but under the hood its quite possible to be the same. looks like they packed lots of stuff of the stage 3 into it. fx looks very similar too and it looks like it compatible with th new rhodes packs

Yeah I have a soft spot for Nords, I don’t really play keys either. I’d love one for the sounds and as a controller.

Yeah thats my thinking. This is really a nord stage 3 without the wheels.

On the black Stylophone CPM device :

The image that JooseBoks supplied, though blurred shows two sections of four parts. While that could be eight drum parts, i think two four step sequencers that you could also run as an eight step might fit as well.

That was my guess too. The new filter box can produce some nice percussive sounds using the noise generators and/or resonance just on its own.

It looks like it has that end edge slot to attach to the drone / filter … I’d guess £200+ and eurorack able

Maybe fx, drums , sequencer … though I won’t be. Using it either way … they’re having some success doing more than the stylophone for 40 yrs .

Hoping it’s percussive . A mini Dfam with the 2 x 4 steps interacting like a subharmonicon.

My nomination for the best thing from NAMM so far :upside_down_face:

A new era of “seeing” the tempo.

A metronome designed to let you focus on your performance.

“I never know where to put my metronome.”
“My metronome keeps falling from the music stand.”
“Using my smartphone as a metronome is distracting with all the notification pop-ups.”
“I can’t hear the click over the other instruments.”

More led light shows. Is this really the future of electronic music? I’ll stick with my mechanical wind up metronome thankyou Korg.
