NAMM 2024 -- (January 25 - 28)

Another part of a show like NAMM that I like. I counted 172 separate musical performances as a part of this show. I know there are others not listed like Cuckoo and Jade Wii, and unlisted performers elsewhere, a lot of whom, hoping it’s all, are getting paid well. And on top of getting paid for the gig, there is the chance to meet people for more paid work later.

I know companies like Yamaha hire performers as representatives, and other companies do similar.

Spread our money around.

Guessing these will be shown - Mackie launch DLZ Creator XS, ProFXv3+ & MobileMix

This could be of interest to those into really compact mixers -

No usb out on this mobilemix, which struck me as odd.

All five will be shown, almost for sure, the MobleMix is the last, so it may be at a final production test run kind of level. They obviously had these well underway when Rode purchased them, so Mackie was expanding their product line going into the sale.

Oh no. That spells trouble for me. Roland is my kryptonite.

Whatever that is I want it.

The drum machine we’ve all been waiting for

They will literally release any drum machine before a proper Volca drum engines drum machine right? :joy:

Any new mixer multitrack audio interfaces on the horizon? Like a Tascam Model 8 with all stereo tracks, or a Roland MX-2, how about a Korg Zero 8 rev 2 usb-c “functional edition” (the mixer of my dreams)?

That new little rhythm box sounds good actually !

I was expecting cheesy. I could practice with that. Another battery device for this year’s theme.

It’s $120 USD.

Any price leak for the little mixer?

Edit 230 bucks, not bad, xfades between camera and other inputs, maybe djing is possible with it. Anyways looks very practical. Or i am a mixer junkie.

Yes!!
Now heres something that is going to be very useful. Line out means i can play live into my sampler in real time as a loop.

looks pretty good tbh. a lot of the use I get out of my digitakt is to make something to play my bass to for practice (bass practice can be a slog to a simple metronome)

seconded (the Mackie “content creator” things announced yesterday was underwhelming to say the least).

That reminds me, I need to adjust the thermostat for the boiler, thanks for the memory jog

Honestly even though this probably doesn’t appeal to a lot of people here, it’s absolutely the kind of thing that I would want if I were a guitarist and wanted something simple to noodle over.

I could practice with the KR-11 too.

Never had a hardware metronome I could start/stop with a footswitch. That’s a feature I’d use for sure.
