Name me some iconic sample libraries

I can’t seem to find the names of those iconic sample libraries. E.g. Future Music CD1. Extra points if it’s so old it’s public domain.

Go check on archive.org you can find some public domain samples there.

Big Fish Audio. seems legit. :baby_chick:

Zero-G Datafiles, X-Static Goldmine, the FutureMusic promo CDs (between archive.org and YT, you can find a lot of them)

but none of them were ever “public domain” even at the time, so caveat samplor

Exactly. Useless.

i dunno about “useless” but will probably have to be more creative today about how obvious lifts get used versus the way those beats got caned in full back in the day

I got one I totally fell in love with and its open licensing you have to chop it up anyway but the sounds are massive inspiration thanks a ton. Big Fish Audio + Goldbaby top notch.

 A blast from the past, I contributed some drum loops to that, and had a couple of tracks on there too. Quite funny hearing them on records in the 90’s.
