N.I. hints new product in near horizon

When I reach them to tell I disappointed after buy Kore 1, upgrade to kore 2 both hardware + Software and Kore Soundpacks they tell me it was a pain for them this piece of hardware and software… It was actually what giving Maschine today. Kore was the foundation of Maschine.

But to me Maschine didn’t bring anything from Kore. The FX section with the kore sound pack Deep transformation, deep reconstruction & Deep Freq… was a huge killer like drop sounds to easy sound design…

I use it again on 10.14.6 it bug sometimes but it’s working again
And I will use it until it crash every time for now it crash 2 times on 10 so it’s ok

I think I see in a video it was Vince Watson or Kirk Degiorgio can’t remember telling he don’t let go and it 's like a secret weapon in their tools (and I perfectly understand that)

Actually I miss Stenberg Hypersonic 2 as well

Maschine Mk III is the single best thing i own (not even just music gear) - that says it all really.

I really like the komplete kontrol s49 mk2.
It‘s nice hardware and a lot of fun.
I still like their software a lot, everything sounds great.
It‘s a shame that you have to skip through parameter pages one by one. It should be possible to jump between them like on the elektrons. And it‘s a pity that they didn’t make use of the big display for parameters. Just tiny numbers.
and. they didn‘t make sampling mode and note editing mode available from the keyboard. I guess they want you buy maschine too and I‘m still thinking about adding a mk3. They would work nicely together…

Maschine software didn‘t change much since I owned it 10 years ago… not the best software. But nice to sketch ideas as others mentioned.

The areanger mode in maschine software definitely needs this update. However i only use maschine to export midi loops to bitwig so i dont really care

Given how they’ve struggled as an organisation lately, I’d say there probably isn’t much of a strategy at all atm.

This topic made me go out and buy iMPC Pro 2 for my iPad to check out MPC workflow.

I’m using my NI stuff less and less these days. Maschine is good at 1-2 things, but thats it for me. And their plugins basically fell off the roster, as I find other plugin companies jetted right past them.
Raum is nice though. thats the one plugin I use atm.

what I do have to say is, that ni maschine (mk1) still is a really cool controller. the pads especially are really good. too bad you cant use it standalone.

The killer with the keyboard is that it’s locked to whatever maschine is doing. You can’t have a friend playing one group while you have a jam on your mk3 , unless you run komplete kontrol software separately., then you need that in a daw to record. So now you have three different sort-of-DAWs running and the setup is just a fiddly buzzkill rather than the keyboard just having…”komplete kontrol”. I’m not sure if the jam is the same way.

Just a thought in that note actually, is this possibly them dropping the fabled jam mk2? Everything else got a revamp, and they’re talking about making maschine a “start to finish solution”. As others have said the hardware is ahead of the software so I thought a mk4 is unlikely.

2.10.0 - 2020-03-11

  • ADDED Auto-Growing Patterns
Upon creating a new Pattern, the length no longer needs to be defined in advance (still can be, but is optional). You can record into a Pattern as long as you like and after you are done recording, any silence at the end will automatically be trimmed to the nearest Bar (quantization can be adjusted via grid settings). After recording you can define the Start of your Pattern and Length, to pick the take or part of your recording that you liked best. This feature can be disabled in the preferences.

  • ADDED Pattern Start Position
You can now define a Start-Offset for each Pattern. The above mentioned play range (set via Start and Length) can be freely moved throughout the Pattern via the Position marker from HW-Controllers or by dragging the loop range left and right in the Software.

  • ADDED Pattern Play Position indicated on the LED Touchstrip for MASCHINE MK3 and MASCHINE MIKRO MK3 (when Touchstrip is not used otherwise)

  • FIXED a problem where Multi-Outputs of MASCHINE 2 were not working correctly in Pro Tools

  • FIXED a crash when loading Meteoric Rise: Tomahawk Kit and creating a Pattern

  • FIXED a crash/error message “project could not be saved” when switching between Audio-Module and Sampler

  • FIXED a crash when opening projects from the “Open recent” tab in the file menu

I’m really liking this feature. So easy to see where you are on a bar when recording.

Imagine that even being a goal in the first place for a product like Maschine. You’d think they would’ve hammered that out in the first year or two.

here’s a quick overview video of the new features digiwut just mentioned.

This update seems so small but it’s features I’ve been waiting for for the last three years. Not being able to adjust pattern start was such a pain, and auto growing patterns is very Live-like which is a welcomed addition.

I would really not market anything as a “start to finish” product. All of a sudden the conversation goes from “look at all the things this can do” to “This doesn’t do the thing I think is really important” followed by a thousand other complainers who consider Feature X to be a deal breaker.

Not updated Komplete since V6. All that is in there is good for a very long time. Only thing that gets used daily is Kontakt, replika, and a few other things. Guitar rig is cool…(dont use it for guitars)
Still using my samples made with Reaktor though.

Never touched maschine but whatever NI do next perhaps they can get some of that early innovation they did with Reaktor. Yeah, a crazy wizard of oz machine that goes deep into a reaktor type of world…

Perfect cuppa, but that’s not the whole breakfast.

For me the update was an anti climax as it introduced features that IMO should be standard for any daw

I totally get their importance but it has no impact on me continuing to only use it within ableton as a drum machine vst. Still a way to go to become a start to finish daw

This isn’t me knocking it BTW, I really like a lot about maschine and use it all the time, just when I saw the headlines about the updates I was expecting to be wowed

I still have a Maschine studio but it’s put away since I’ve gotten Push 2. I could never find a good way to integrate it with Live. I also have Komplete 12 which gets a lot of use. Theres so much good stuff in there. The thing thats really great about Maschine is the ability to browse, preview and easily load all the kits and all the Komplete stuff. Playing Maschine as a groovebox is pretty amaZing! Probably the best groovebox workflow ever made since you have fast access to TONS of STUFF in Komplete.

I used to start a lot of stuff in Maschine then just drag and drop the audio into Live to finish with arrangement and mixing. But I’ve even stopped doing that.

I literally feel guilty sometimes when I think about my Maschine studio just sitting there collecting dust but it’s just too much of a pain in the ass to use regularly. Maybe I’ll but it out and have a little groovebox jam on it and see what comes out.

Damn, I paid about 1k for that fucking thing and now it just sits in the corner collecting dust. I could sell it I guess I think they’re worth about $300 right now! Selling it is also a pain because you have to transfer licenses and that crap plus I like the drum libraries and use them all the time!

I wish I could browse and load Maschine drum racks in Push
That would be lovely.

NI is great but they’ve pissed m,e off a few times over the years. For example I’ve bought and sold multiple expensive Traktor controllers over the years because I used to DJ a lot. I own Komplete 12 and Machine yet somehow I was told by their support that if I wanted to use Traktor I’d have to buy a new license. Crazy!!!

Oh well…

Just so you know you don’t have to sell with controller with the License anymore, the license can be purchased separately now.

Check out AudioModder, it let’s you browse your Maschine/Komplete Kontrol libraries from Push
