I ordered a cable to power my M:C via USB. It was expensive, I didn’t like the way it fitted so I intend to return it. So far their customer service has not responded to my correspondence (to ask what the return procedure is). A few things about myVolts have me scratching my head though:
Apparently it’s “an Irish company based in Dublin” (quote from website)
My order took nearly 2 weeks to arrive and when it I noticed it actually came from Netherlands
I went to find out contact information from them and the phone number is 0131 country code which is Scotland
It’s not uncommon in this day and age for a company to have facilities in various locations, I’ve bought from myvolts a few times and haven’t had a problem yet, admittedly their site doesn’t really seem geared up for a convenient return, but there’s a support form buried in there…
I’e heard similar complaints (I’m pretty sure some users here also had problems, but could’ve been a different forum), so seems their customer service just sucks, but the products they sell are legit.
IME forms like that often seem to have issues (sometimes seemingly related to specific browsers/settings, sometimes not). Quite a few times I’ve directly emailed somewhere a few days later and they replied saying they hadn’t received anything despite the form supposedly being submitted successfully.
Just had a look on there and it might be worth trying your luck direct at help@myvolts.co.uk.
Edit: Just realised the automated response was probably an email which at least sounds more concrete than the site saying the form was submitted successfully…
I use their myvolts cable and barrel jack, and it fits and works fine.
Used it this summer to power my dt2 without hiccups.
Also no clue about their customer service, yet.
One of the cables I ordered from myvolts had a manufacturing error, i.e. one of the sides had a shorter jack and would not fit. It took two e-mail attempts to get them to partially refund me, so I suggest trying again.
I didn’t look up the address but just from how it’s called I’d suspect a shared address for multiple businesses to receive their mail at rather than a physical headquarters. Let us know what you come up with.
Contact them on social media. They’ll want to resolve. To answer the question I’ve had no Customer Service issues and this looks like an outlier tha5 got stuck in a bad form. . MyVolts are headquartered in Dublin at a business incubation hub but will have operations outside Dublin. They’ve been present at events such as Superbooth and are active in the Dublin electronic scene.
I ordered a cable from them and had to return it after I found a better solution (Usb-C). Wrote through the customer service form and they answered within a few days - no issues with the return. Just wanted to chime in with a recent positive experience. It would be better for them to include return address right away but I was happy how things turned out.
