Mysterious letter C on display

Hello,
I’m quite new to the Elektron world.
Just got a Syntakt last December.

When I switch on the Syntakt, the screen displays :

  • the letter C in the bottom left
  • 1.21 on the bottom right
1.21 is obviously the firmware revision.
But what does the C letter means ?
    Thanks for any clue.

It is probably the bootloader version. Bootloader is the piece of program doing the start-up tests and load or update the OS. It is automatically updated when a new OS is flashed but not downgraded when switching back to an old OS.

“C” stands for “Cenk”, as in “Cenk was here”. Gone but not forgotten!

Thanks everyone for your reply and humour.

If this corresponds to the boot loader version, we should all have the same letter C if we are on the latest firmware 1.21.
Is it the case ?

I own a Nord Electro which has a hardware revision printed on the front panel.
Could the letter C on the Syntakt be related with some hardware revision ?

Interesting.
What is the build date ?
Mine is 2023 W43.

Mine says 2022 W41.

sorry, I was mistaken. The os was 1.1o. Today upgrade to 1.21 and now I have the “C” on the screen

Thanks for the update.

So cema was right and this letter is probably related with the bootloader version.
