It’s stuck in the pressed-in position, even though the button is up.
Has anyone encountered this before?
What size allen key do I need to open it up?
It’s a MK1, purchased used almost 2 weeks ago.
Thanks.

I submitted a ticket with Elektron Support.
Does anyone know if they can still repair MK1’s?
Do you have a guitar pick? I think the hex is maybe 2.5 but it might be easier to just pop the button cap off so you can blow some canned air in there and take a look with a light. You can take the faceplate off but it’s a whole can of worms (not crazy worms, manageable worms but worms none the less).
Anything like, plastic and not too sharp but not thin enough to be bendy should be able to pop it off. If the mechanical button is just sorta stuck physically without have exploded I think it will pop back up and then you can just press the button cap back on. You can at least try to agitate the button with a chopstick or something not too hard (would avoid screwdriver and the like) and if it seems like it’s all bad, then wait on Elektron support.
My free 2 cents that you’re welcome to ignore but might be worth a shot!
Thanks @shigginpit.
I was able to pull the grey cap off with just my fingers.
In the photo below, that round white part (with the square black housing) is completely loose. Anyone know how to fix this?
The black part is probably brocken. Remove screws to check inside. It is possible to repair it with glue.
Thanks @sezare56.
Looks familiar. That part should likely be soldered or glued to the PCB, not loose.
Darn. I’d probably reach out to the seller with a slight WTF inquiry.
The black part is in 2 parts. The base is fixed to the PCB.
Avoid to unsolder. There is a spring and a metal “ball” inside.
Just a quick update:
Elektron got back to me and the out-of-warranty repair at their California facility would cost $50 per half-hour, plus parts.
The seller got back to me and I returned it to them.
