Cheers! Working on these as tracks to be performed, rather than ‘produced’
Dope stuff @igtheflig and @Tikoda! I’m Learning from listening to all these AR made songs… the AR does have it’s own sound I can hear in all these songs regardless of genre.
I got a lot of my own AR tunes on my instagram and youtube channel, would love some feedback as well!
I know the AR has the similar sampling capability of the DT, is there any difference / omission between the two? Sure this has been asked a billion times elsewhere…
It’s completely identical except for 2 things:
-the DT has a more precise control over the start and end point
-The DT has start and length, the AR has start and end. Both offer different benefits, but because of these 2 things the DT can do more granular stuff, and is nicer to chop samples on.
The AR makes samples sound warmer though…
DT has separate loop points too. So, you can play a sample from the start and have it loop a portion of the sample nearer to its end. AR can only loop samples between the sample start and length.
It’s nice they give the DT those unique elements but I’m sure it makes AR owners a tad jealous haha. It would be sweet if the AR could do those things
They want you to buy both😉
Well, it didn’t work.
I got the OT instead.
The digitakt has control all. I know the rytm has its own version of that and it’s arguably more powerful, but one of my favorite things to do on any piece of gear ever is mangle stuff with Ctrl - all and switch it back into place instantly.
You can find those design decisions in all Elektron boxes… it’s a bit sad. Maybe Elektron will let us have those features if we own all the hardware and their new SAAS model?! (would be nice since I own almost all new Elektron boxes!!)
You have a sound for sure, I love how mellow those tracks are.
Have you seen this (youtube recommended after I watched your stuff) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eabHJOVOV2I ?
Thanks! Yeah Marlow is great! Love his mpc videos as well
I use mine pretty much exclusively as a groovebox. Haven’t gotten around to using it as a proper drum machine, but I love it’s dark gritty quality.
Dope video and tune! It sounds really full.
