My digitone LFO page started acting up

Hi guys. Turned my digitone 2 on today after not having used it for a few weeks to discover the LFO target selection page randomly exits at random times. I was using the arrows to select a target and it just leaves the selection page at totally random times. Works fine if using just the knob. It’s as if the no button is randomly triggering. Except it’s not the no button triggering because other pages don’t exit like this as far as I can tell

Please tell me this is a software bug and not a hardware fault? :frowning:

Anyone ever have this happen? I’m on firmware 1.10D

Edit: twisted the C knob a few times and it fixed itself. Seems the c knob was sending a signal that it’s “turning” without me touching it. Should I be concerned about a failing pot?

I had a similar issue with Digitone og… And same solution, turning fast the knob until the next time…

Thanks. Did the issue recurr for you? Or was it just a one time thing?

Probaly dirt or wear on the pot (afaik Digitone is using endless potentiometers, not encoders). If it’s not happening that often, don’t worry about it. Replacing pots is something any electronics repair shop can do (and also anyone with moderate soldering skills).
Pots, encoders, buttons/switches and displays are parts that will show signs of wear eventually.

Edit; It can help to rapidly turn the knob in both directions for a couple of seconds or for buttons, press it 20-30 times. It basically cleans the pot/switch.

Yeah that seems to have fixed it so far. Must have been dust

Happened to me like 5-10 times. Over a year of use. I think it might be software related as my pots work fine.
