Wondering if anyone has ordered from there or lives in the area.
Found 2 reviews of people not getting gear, but a bunch of others that were satisfied. Looks like just 1 guy and only open 2 days a week… Still ordered early Friday and haven’t heard anything. Luckily the VISA dept at my bank will refund me a day after I submit fraud. Ordered a new Nord Drum 3P for $699 so already seems too good to be true…
Once or twice I’ve bought gear from LA-area musicians who are also gear dealers on the side. In each case, I’ve had email and phone conversations before buying big ticket items.
“Church Audio” and “GSA Contractor” sounds like you may be dealing with an A/V contractor who also sells gear. I would certainly want to talk to someone before buying, and wouldn’t be surprised if they are only in “office” 1-2 days a week, or at odd hours.
It is possible that your purchase woke them up and they changed the price, but haven’t cancelled your order yet.
The Music and Movies industries are a big part of LA, but also a lot of tech industry companies have been moving in to LA and need more conventional corporate A/V stuff. Lots of megachurches in LA, San Diego and Orange County. There is a good amount of aerospace (defense contractors, thus GSA buys) in LA and San Diego. So their description sounds legit, but that’s also what a scammer would say to sound legit.
Solid insight and true. I tried to sell telematics to GSA and a nuclear waste disposal branch of gov in Nevada, was all weird sales experiences thinking they outsource that stuff to small third parties.
Anyways, will wait a day and see what happens. If not my bank eats the cost or writes it off and its a waste of time. Back to looking for a used nord drum.
If “I usually shop the heck out of items” doesn’t ease your concerns, I am not sure what will! That’s a totally normal statement that people that are not scamming definitely say.
