Muting forum members

Muting threads is definitely essential to reducing clutter and getting to valuable/relevant to me info easier :ok_hand:t5:.

Unlike most you refined people I do enjoy the drama… now I wonder where to find the Fin vs Prints episodes to check out :grin::cup_with_straw:

Muting professional yum yuckers enhances my snowflake ass’ quality of life.

I’m definitely stealing ā€œYum Yuckersā€. :weary::sob::rofl:

It just takes so much energy to yuck someone’s yum and I don’t really understand the why. Like, who gives a f*ck if someone likes something you think is ugly or pointless or expensive. You’re not gonna save them from financial ruin or cancer so get off the damn internet.

Obviously I’m not talking about you specifically. And yes I have feelings about this topic.

its the laziest and least vulnerable way to connect with others who share the same boring opinion. preschoolers do this shit all the time and its always the ones who struggle to make positive connections with others

I’m on these forums to talk about all the gear I buy/sell. I’m not here to complain about gear I haven’t tried or brown-nose Elektron so being able to streamline content will make my snowflake life less annoying. As I grow older, I just want things to be less annoying.

I agree. I got a supervisor at work that pulls this crap. I looked him square in the eyes and said ā€œYou are a fifty year old man. Isn’t it time you grew out of your insecure bully phase?ā€ Needless to say, we aren’t allowed to work on the same job site anymore.

Yum Yucking and Thread Hunching is def common in these parts. Seems mostly a thing some folks with too much time on their hands do to entertain themselves. They must share their opinion (usually contrarian) about any and everything several times in the same thread as if it’ll matter more the 20th time they say it.lol

I try to avoid this. For instance, I’ve been a Maschine and SP404 user for well over a decade. I’ve been an advocate for both devices, still love them and even started a few threads myself. However, I don’t use them as much anymore. You don’t see me haunting the Maschine or SP404 threads at all, let alone repeating my personal criticisms over and over. I still love them and prefer to leave the threads to those enjoying it every day.

Some folks like being the Heel. Disturbing folks for attention. Where I’m from, we used to smack kids like that in grade school. As an adult, I just ignore them.

I feel the same way. It’s like the algorithm has trained us. Negative content gets more views. Views have been equated to connection in a world where we don’t even know our neighbors.

Agreed—I’ve grown so tired of edgelords across the internet.

I miss the time when we were able to see the flagged comments. It was there to learn something, right?

globally we are being conditioned towards controlled discord amongst each other and being forced to consent to censorship for the ā€œgreater goodā€ā€¦induced quiet hysteria and to police each other…

Hmm. I’ll have think on that one. Not sure I see it the same way, but I’m also not sure if I fully disagree.

Okay, I’ve heard of Yum Yucking (or at least ā€œDon’t yuck my yumā€) but Thread Hunching is a new one to me. I love it! Perfectly descriptive and hilarious.

People have completely forgotten how to be around people they disagree with.

It’s fucking bananas.

It’s ok to disagree with each other.

I dont think we have been free as we assume we have been … rules and control have always been there but they never satisfy us all at the same time. Hence why we have civilized discussions.

yeah its still ok, in fact its so ok its a new identity

Yeah well, you didn’t drop me a like so guess what? Fucking muting your ass :eyes::sob::rofl:
