Hello everyone, I have some issues when changing patterns with some sounds…
EXAMPLE:
I am on pattern A1, where there is a sequence with track 2 playing a pad with very long release/delay/reverb
when I change on pattern A2, the queue of the sound on track 2 doesn’t stop suddently ad I expected but continues for just 1-2 seconds…while the other tracks 1 and 4 on A2 sound normally the pattern. (in A2 the pattern on track 2 is empty).
Is there a way to solve this? Am I doing something wrong in settings?
You have to engineer your preferred solution to what is otherwise desirable behaviour … remember, the sequencer is an event sequencer, not an audio sequencer, there’s nothing about changing patterns which determines that an event should end ‘audio’ prematurely … just think how unpleasant this would be if it was a cymbal that got chopped just at the point of pattern changing
you just need to implement a way to ensure that the otherwise normally decaying sound is interrupted sooner … if it isn’t happening quickly enough for you on A2 then make a fake note on the first trig that is otherwise unheard, but engages the voice, thus killing the sound of the event triggered on A1 … maybe give the fake event a TRC of 1st, so it only interrupts the first time you enter, that way, going forward, any sound on that track already sounding will be ‘silenced’ whenever you enter that pattern
either that or you could externally send a MIDI All sounds off command, this is basically what happens when you double stop the sequencer
