Musicians face execution and torture

Let’s change things around a little.

There may be a mixture of feelings on this.

El Funky – Eliéxer Márquez Duany. He came to the US from Cuba, in 2021, and applied for residency under the Cuban Adjustment Act. His application has now been denied, and he faces deportation back to Cuba, by the present US administration, which is unlikely to change his status. His deportation is set for just a few weeks from now.

Song : Patria y Vida, queued to where El Funky performs. Roll it back and listen to the whole thing, it is a powerful song and performance.

This is the song that will sink him too, along with his other activity toward the present Cuban government. His fate in Cuba is not known, but you’d think imprisonment, at least, is likely.

And as i said there is a range of reaction to this. You see El Funky is an active and vocal supporter of Donald Trump, and his policies. He is now largely being ignored by the party in power, despite their supporting him in the past. And given his largely pro-Trump stance, he is not getting an outpouring of support anywhere, though those opposing Trump are powerless to change his situation anyway.

He is not alone. There is reportedly 37,000 Cubans currently facing deportation, with around 300,000 said to have had their imigration status revoked by the current US administration. Many of them are strong Trump supporters, though as non-citizens they cannot vote.

As i said, i’m changing things up a bit.

Flees authoritarianism in Cuba, supports the rise of authoritarianism in the US. Some real leopards at my face shit.

…too many good reasons, why powerful people fear the power of words and music…whenever music, words and protest finds itself UNITED, the power of the people becomes THE WEAPON any sort of gorvernment is frightened of the most…

I like it but don’t agree with the term authoritarian referring to the Cuban government.
