I have the same. Dead Can Dance is pretty heavy on the mood, it digs up all those fears and failures that you’ve hidden beneath. Pains from broken relationships, worries about losing parents (which regrettably is a given act of nature), worries about society, about the future of my children and me wanting to be there to guide them for as long as possible. Well, that’s for me personally anyway.
Damn Dead Can Dance…I’m not crying, your crying.
For obvious chronological reasons
unexpectedly, it’s folk
Anne Briggs - Willie O’Winsbury
Coat of many colours by Dolly Parton.
If that comes on the radio I’m in trouble.
Especially if I’m driving. Like, find a lay-by and pull over kind of trouble.
Combined with the scenery in the film, it’s pretty devastating
But I think the composition is so moving just on it’s own. There is a heavy up/down “tidal wave” motif that makes my life flash before my eyes - good and bad and everything in between
EDIT: UGH now i’m listening to it
When Cher tried singing Fernando in Mama Mia 2 here we go again.
