Never stop spreading Twin Peaks joke !

I don’t get it. That joke shows the wife to be the smart responsible one and seems to make fun of the husband. Should I be offended instead?

That’s true.
But she’s the one staying at home, taking care of the kid, not taking care of the money, not going to the city… It’s a retrograde and outdated picture of the couple and the role a wife can have.
It’s so slippery we should just… Don’t go there.

But maybe sometimes he stays home with the kids and plays those synths he’s thinking about while she goes to work. That’s how it works in my house. My wife and I trade off a ton. You’re assuming a lot about these people. Traditional roles can be good, as can reversed ones.

Of course !
But we don’t often encounter such image of the couple in the meme thread! Ever wondered why?
Why that couple-in-the-street-with-the-guy-checking-another-hot-stranger-woman meme (God I hate this meme) is not the other way around?

Whatever, it’s a sexist joke and they are not welcome, as much as racist jokes. Keep them for yourself, please. It makes the place more of a good old blokes’ club and less open to everyone, so just drop it.

If you don’t get it, educate yourself and stop derailing this thread.

Married guys usually and understandably love wife jokes but ok, forum rules are forum rules!

But we wouldn’t want this place to stay/be/become a “married guys only” place, so thank you for your understanding.

Who said “only”? Make the opposite jokes and everybody’s happy

But for an “unknown” reason, it’s not happening!
