I know there’s been a few of these threads recently, the industry is clearly having a hard time.
I’ve been trying to get hold of Music Matter for a few weeks because I have credit on account, but the website appears to have no stock of synths, DJ gear, controllers, almost nothing. I sent a few emails and got no reply. I have now googled and others are suggesting that they may be going out of business so I tried to call support but the number is dead.
I have great sympathy for the staff because I’ve been made redundant at the beginning of the year and I still haven’t found a new job yet. It’s one more reason I could use my £500 back, but I can’t get hold of anyone.
I think this may be my ultimate punishment for buying and then returning so much gear over the years.
On a serious note, it’s a real shame the UK economy and job market is in such a bad state at the moment and I hope everyone is managing OK.
I’ve used them a number of times and have always been great. Just checked and you’re right, all the synths are still there - but now listed as out of stock!
I bought and returned a Korg in July! Maybe I was part of its downfall?!
Maybe something personal happened, some sort of staff issue maybe, and they have an option to ‘pause’ their shop. Otherwise why wouldn’t they just take the whole site offline?
Wow, that’s a surprise- the web site is still up and selling as if they are in business other than ‘everything’ (including B stock!) is out of stock. I wonder if they are out of business (seems like there would be easier ways to say this) or if they have been hacked?
Such a shame, they were the closest reseller to me and I’d been in a couple of times for my MiniFuse and Korg Monologue. Really nice guy who I dealt with there.
Very sad times and on the other hand also it’s a shame for your store credit. Sorry for all parties involved and I hope that their employees got some forewarning and that they didn’t just arrive to locked doors.
No. This would be a lot bigger than that, and even if so, a single reversed transaction like that triggering or contributing towards a bankruptcy would point to something else being amiss.
This is likely due to them not being able to pay all their bills and staff on time for a lengthy period of time, and one or more decided to pull the plug. Or the board of the company deciding they couldn’t justify operating with such a poor outlook
yes - i had a similar issue with a Vintage Furniture store, I pre-ordered some items, paid with credit card and in the meanwhile the store went bankrupt - i recovered my money via VISA providing all the documentation and such.
never used Scan, I thought they went out of business ages ago…they also sell a bit of everything not just music instruments, also they are not Elektron dealer…
Nah they’ve been around all along. Was the pc parts place back in the day. Have fairly decent pro audio stuff now. Support is good. PayPal 48mths 0% is the absolute clincher for me. No others have that power, Juno gives you 6 months.
If you lurk on Juno’s site during weekly opening hours you’ll often get a live chat bod pop up offering discount on what you’re currently browsing. Got 12% knocked off my last two synths that way.
Be sure to read every single entry listed down the page, and maybe next time anyone fancies promoting Amazon by linking to a product on there, or buying a musical instrument or indeed anything else on there …
