MPC Thread : MPC Live - MPC X - MPC One (Part 3)

We should stay away from this thread for a while to avoid temptation  I also have a Live1 and I refuse to buy the pro pack because I’m sure that sooner or later I will replace this machine. With a lot, a LOT of patience I will wait to see if an MPC X or Key comes out in the next few months, they are the only instruments for which I would be willing to spend the price of a Roland TR1000.

Stupid question can you plug in or use a Bluetooth mouse on live 3

On the LFO screen you can turn reset on or off, it’s on by default. The control is in the lower right, the layout is a little confusing and different from the LFO screen in the keygroup editor.

Have you turned off the LFO’s RESET parameter? I tried it and the LFO runs free.

The apps in pro pack can be installed on up to 3 machines just like the other Akai apps. Me Force, me MPC, and me Ableton is be gettin’ some new friends right quick, argh.

And hold up…. About 600-700 posts ago everyone told me the new L3 was stupid, lame, sequencer buttons were wrong and stupid, that the new L3 was stupid compared to the L2, and it was stupid because it was dumb, because everyone that works at Akai was dumb. And stupid.

What changed?

Also bopDJ has them. Think all other usual UK suspects now sold out

I went from not interested to buying on the strength of the Sweetwater video. The range of capabilities is unbelievable, looks much more hands on (if you want to be) with all the new buttons and yay for softer pads again.
I wonder if they can still just play one sample per pad

My thoughts exactly. MPC3 removed a lot of the ā€œLiveā€ part missleadingly used in the product name. The issues I’m facing were, from my understanding without having tried it, not present in MPC2 firmware…

I’m using an Octatrack for program changes to MPC, utilizing Arranger currently. Works very well for changing sequences on my MPC Live 1. The other way doesn’t work, changing patterns on the Octatrack from the MPC, because of the Elektron philosophy of ā€œqueuing pattern changesā€ when used with some gear.

32 simultaneous plugins, not bad as a sound source. I used Key 61 for this but didn’t use the keyboard, much more compact now. Only bummer is having to pay the premium plugins now.

Is it possible to set the colors of the pads manually? Are there more shades/hues to choose from than the standard ones?

Damn, the clip matrix made my MPC to a new machine, a better machine. I understand it would be nicer for free, but this was easily the best purchase I have made for the MPC.

People were pretty hyped about tonverk but I never really see people talk about autosampler on MPC. Anyone here get much use out of it? With the new added processing power I imagine loading big multisamples will be smoother. I’m just thinking about how the new pads will apply to it.

I totally get why it’s a paid upgrade. Perfect choice actually. I would also not be surprised if there are a few more paid upgrades for major features for version L1/One/old Keys/L2, all chances to stay invested in your current hardware or look at those prices as going toward the new hardware.

Exactly what made me buy the Keys61 as my first MPC after the Force. I wanted the new Fabric and other synths plus a new midi keyboard for my Force so logically spending $1500 on the Keys accomplished all that.

It’s a 99/199 delineation point one must hurdle (or not) in their decision to stay with the MPC.

I decided when I bought the 1500 MPC that I would t then be too stingy on the apps and I welcome more and more choices in the future.

I even bought Ring the Alarm.

I think people dont talk about it because it is such a basic feature

Yes. There’s a pad colour page

Even if they come up with a MPC Key 61 II the current one is perfectly fine if it’s only used as an instrument source and midi keyboard, and you still get the pads if you’re using Force. That was my setup too.
