I’d love an MPC with a metal casing or at least faceplate. I have a Key 37 but the red plastic is an eyesore. At least it doesn’t have the gummy soft touch rubber that the Live and Elektron triggers have.

Does OPX4 ever go on decent sale? 149 usually it seems, best deal right now seems to be fabric collection which includes it for 99, but I already have the stage piano stuff so less interested in a big package deal.

You just missed Summer sale. They were all dirt cheap for months. I don’t know for sure, but I imagine Akai does several big sales per year so I’d sit tight. At worst, Black Friday is just a few months away and I’d be very surprised if Akai doesn’t discount plugins as low or lower for that.

Yes OPx-4 does go on sale. iirc, I paid $29. Occasionally check Plugin Boutique, JRR Shop, Audio Deluxe for sales. And the Air and MPC software site.

Sign up for Akai’s & Air’s email to be notified when their stuff goes on sale.

Is there a shortcut or a direct button to Arrange View in MPC X Se?
Thanks a lot!

main menu screen is a 4 x 4 grid.

Menu + Pad (1-16) becomes a shortcut to the corresponding icon location.

So, if you put Arranger icon in the top left corner…menu + Pad 13 is the shortcut.

Atleast that’s how it’s done on Live 2. X Se has more buttons so perhaps there’s another way but I’m pretty sure menu + corresponding pad to whatever icon location is universal.

I’d love for the next edition of the MPC X to have actual direct buttons for grid edit and arrange view. Maybe one button that shifts between them.

(Also, I just need a place to complain about how there’s no longer a way to adjust zoom with the q-links in grid edit any more)

Got my hands on @monsterism ā€˜s Live 2 and the combo headphones and built in speaker for quick mixing/mastering is so neat as you get 2 sound references so if you’re happy with both, chances are you’re in a good place.
And being battery powered is such a plus.

Did the London Synth Club EMOM last night finger drumming on the live 2 and while building the set I solely relied on how it sounded with speaker and headphones. Have to say it translated pretty well on stage.

I was a bit worried about the pad response for finger drumming as the One was a bit meh but at full velocity level, max pad threshold and least pad sensitivity I get really good results - no double trigs.

I wasn’t a big fan of the big chunky slab type format but the workflow makes it work.

One question though, to access program mode is there any other way besides double tapping on the waveform in main mode?

Thanks

Yeah, if you hold down the menu button, the pads correspond with the icons on screen. You can long press and drag them about to suit. I’ve got program edit set to menu and pad 4, you can even do it one handed.

Le_filou I can’t remember if that was you or somebody else… back in the day on another forum was that you who was having problems with the tails getting cut off on a sampler?

Is there a shortcut in MPC X for TC?

Amazing thanks!

Sounds familiar, I do enjoy when tails get cut off via level mute., not midi mute :stuck_out_tongue:

Hi guys,
I have been experimenting routing my sp404 OG as an external unit but I’m a bit confused a to how to make the fx work in a way that I can still apply master fx after the sp404 fx?

For example I have a beat going, I smash the vinyl sim on the SP as external fx routed back into the Live 2 and after that would like to still EQ/comp the overall mix on my master track using insert fx.

I have experimented with several ways of plugging using 3/4 or 1/2 outs on the live 2 but no avail SP is always end of chain (and 1/2 creates an fx loop).

I’m basically trying to reproduce what the external fx plug instrument does on ableton live so I can still have control of the overall master after the SP fx is applied.

It’s almost like I’d need another overarching track that I’d use as a master track to route 3/4 into and apply fx to.

Let me know if there’s a way.

Thanks
