MPC3 Beta Introduction

Welcome to the beta release of MPC3 desktop software — a major evolution in the MPC

platform. MPC3 delivers a significant upgrade in both workflow efficiency and feature depth,

introducing a streamlined approach to music production through an all-new unified track

architecture.

By merging tracks and programs into a single 1:1 track model, MPC3 simplifies complex

workflows and accelerates creative momentum. Whether you’re composing, editing, or mixing,

MPC3 is designed to help you move faster and stay inspired.

Highlights of the MPC3 Beta

• 1:1 Track Model — Tracks and programs are now unified, streamlining routing and

editing.

• VST3 Plugin Support — Expanded plugin compatibility for modern production

environments.

• Improved drum tracks — 8 velocity layers, slice motion and other enhancements.

• Advanced Keygroup Synthesis engine.• More timestretch options.

Please Note: This is an Early Beta Build

This beta version includes core elements of the MPC3 architecture, but does not represent the

final feature set. It is designed to give users early access to the new workflow and provide

feedback as we move toward a full release.

Planned Features Not Yet Included in This Beta

• Q-Link Setup

• Arranger View (GUI replacement for Track View)

• Time Signature Support

• Various GUI Enhancements

We’re excited to bring you into the future of MPC — and we can’t wait to hear what you create with MPC3.

So since I don’t use the software really I guess I can pretty much ignore this update… just bipolar now in advanced keygroups… cool…

I’m hopeful this will cut down on the tons of mute events that were getting created in the last version based on the bug fixes they list.

A few of the improvements are compelling. Like the keygroup multi pad track edit improvements but that ā€˜Known Issues’ list is curbing my enthusiasm.

I guess most people use the software to open projects from hardware in another DAW and send each channel to separate tracks for resampling.

So, it’s basically like a bridge between MPC hardware and a DAW that’s not MPC Software

Haha. Would of bet my house Time signature options not done

That’s exactly what I’m planning

I bought an MPC one recently without realising this bridging app between MPC and Ableton existed so was a nice surprise and even better I didn’t have to wait long for it to be released.

Very happy

Thanks. I get the Vintage units my have a distinct sound but the new current gen are better at achieving a unique sound created by each user instead of the being stuck with the default factory sound & no or very limited FX. Oh & Theo is a funny dude.

Definitely funny any which way you cut it. Nice to see him talking about production, tends to get asked about DJing a lot more - understandable, seeing as imho he’s one of the best to ever do it.

Thought for a second skimming this that they were keeping 2.15 compatibility in the new desktop software, but I guess not. Would be nice if boxes running 2.1x could operate in controller mode for the 3.0 desktop, same way that 3.0 can work with the 2.15 desktop currently. Could be best of both worlds - the strengths of 3.0 for me are more suited to the kinds of sessions where I’m likely to be on the computer anyhow.

But I’d say less than zero chance in reality, they’re gonna want to get everyone on to their current one and not worry about maintaining previous versions. Part of the reason that I stuck with 3.0 for a while - I figure support for the plugin/app for 2.15 is now finished and it’ll be gone the next time there’s a major OS update on computers. Not the biggest deal though, the box works fine on its own terms.

Vst3, finally

Anyone had any luck opening MPC3 software in Ableton?
I can find MPC2 in Ableton but not MPC3 which I installed.
Maybe that will come later?

Has Live finished scanning the plugin list?

EDIT: the release notes don’t mention that it is available as a plugin, nor that it isn’t - and I’m stuck at work, so can’t check myself

Yep, or I guess so.
Normally it scans through new software and plugins when I start Live.
I guess I will have to wait for that function
Looked in the release notes as well, and couldnt find any info about it.

Oh no! That was the next thing I was going to try out! There’s no mpc3 plugin yet :scream:

Basic setup info.

Pretty excited that this is officially on its way now. I’ve been neglecting my Key 37 quite a bit since getting a Push late last year but once I can directly integrate it in the daw again I can see myself using it a lot more.
