No one knowsâŚready when itâs ready is all the feedback we haveâŚIts a beta for âhardwareâ, so it needs to be pretty close to finished IMOâŚitâs not like like on a PC when you can run the beta âandâ the stable versions and carry on working as normalâŚ

to those that have done it, to remove the gooâŚ.is rubbing alcohol okay [ethyl alcohol], or is isopropyl better?
Iâm not taking the case off to clean it, watched a vid on taking it apartâŚ.nightmare. so, should the alc touch the pads, would that melt them? seems like cleaning between the pads might be a bit of the challenge.

This would be my solution as well. No risk of damage to the unit and you donât have to open it up.

itâs suggested for the âvelvetâ coating, to try to get it, or as much off pre skinning. It holds dust, and in spots is so gnarly, itâs not altogether smooth. And gooey enough, that Iâm not sure how well a skin would adhereâŚlong term.

Chonky cooked up another beat on the MPC One
Got my Live 2 all set up for tonightâs gig, which is really just a bunch of clip programs. Iâve not had this machine long, so Iâm still using it in very basic ways. Written a couple tunes on it, but itâs typically a very basic pattern that gets tossed into Logic for arranging, adding additional parts, mixing, etc. Baby steps, I suppose 
The way Iâve been performing live lately has been to take fully mixed songs, chop them up into anywhere from 4-16 bar patterns, then load those patterns into a clip program. One clip program per song. Set each pad to the same choke group. As long as I know which pad is playing which part, I donât have to think about too much and am free to do other things like play guitar or synth. Just hit the next pad whenever the mood strikes.
Since I play between bands setting up/tearing down, I never know how long a tune needs to be, as some bands change over quicker than others. Having these clip programs makes it easy to make a jam whatever length I choose.
This method gives me flexibility in certain ways and takes it away in others, but Iâm good with the compromise for now.
I still find the MPC baffling and canât easily do the weirder, more polymetric, randomized IDM crap Iâm fond of doing, but itâs given me many new ideas on how to approach music differently. One day, maybe Iâll have the time to learn how this machine works, but for now itâs going well as it stands.

I noticed some weirdness with my MPC live 2 and ssd when booting up on battery.
If I booted up the MPC when running on battery it would revert back to mounting the ssd with the default name of [disk] or something, whereas when booting up the device while connected to mains it would mount the SSD with the âcorrectâ name I had named the drive as.
Basically when it reverted back to the [disk] name it would break the customised q link mapping I had set up for midi fighter twister. It took me a while to figure out that the issue only happened when starting up on the battery.
Could be totally unrelated to your SSD issues but just something else to keep an eye out for?
