I know this is not an MPC Software thread but I don’t think there is one.
I just installed Ableton Live 12 Standard to automate, mix and master my productions.
I am exporting my MPC Software projects as Ableton Live set. When I open the als file in Ableton the BPM, order of tracks etc. are all right. But there are no audio tracks present. They are in the folder but for some reason they are not incorporated into the tracks which means I have to manually drop them on the tracks. Anyone knows what am I doing wrong or the issue Here? Thanks.
He reached is gofundme goal. He didn’t mentioned it in the video, but he’s also recovering from leg surgery. It was crazy that right when I posted his video had already got robbed & when I got home & refreshed the page I found out what happen…
Reddit of all place showed him the most love & support. The main MPC sub can be brutal.
I can never remember where most of the things are either, but I’m used to that slide feature & adjusted to it, but wish it could moved to the bottom or right side of the screen or even be made to be transparent but still active, if for whatever reason it can’t be moved.
I had something nice going last night and my shit crashed, black screened then came back up with the message “recovered from internal error”. Of course I lost what I was working on but rather than focusing on that, I’m curious whether I’m causing this by loading too many kits to audition sounds? In the past I never thought that was an issue but last night I had loaded quite a few.
Do you guys purge unused kits after loading them? I honestly never thought of this machine as being weak in that way and it has so much more ram than DT that I can’t really understand the issue, but if that’s the issue I’ll be more careful I guess.
I use to have a few crashes back in the days on my 2kxl. Like u got used to it, every 30 beat or so would crash. Now after 2 weeks with MPC one+ I’ve only had one crash, after that I’m getting ridiculous on the save button…
Yeah, my digitakt is rock solid, I’ve never once had it do anything it wasn’t supposed to do. I hate the feeling of “have I saved recently?” but I’m gonna have to get with it because randomly losing work is just an incredible punch in the stomach on some reasonably high-end equipment.
I can only speak for MPC Software but if I end up not using a kit or plugin, I delete them. Crashing also happens in the Software. Unfortunately I learned the hard way so now I save my projects like every 5 minutes maybe.
Crashing no fun but part of the process I guess if you want the AkaiLife. In the words of the rapper LMNO “my life doesn’t stop when the computer crashes”. Something to sample when the Stem support releases, if it’s stable that is!
How good is time stretch? I`m thinking on bring an MPC to my live rig, sometimes I might want to change the bpm right before a live set, with the OT this is no problem, how is it with the MPC?
I usually didn’t purge anything, but I did have a handful of crashes when I owned my One. Lost more than one good song to them, it always hurt. I learned to get into the habit of using the save shortcut real quick, I probably saved every five minutes.
If this keeps happening it might not hurt to do a factory reset.
I just did one after my second “internal audio device not detected” error. I guess I’ll just join the paranoid saves club because I lost something like 8 tracks from my beat and my last save was just the original core 2 sounds from my melody. I was a little heated and just turned it off after that, sometimes you gotta get back in the right frame of mind even if you want to try and rebuild something.
Again I am coming from software side but let me show you how paranoid I am right now. I not only save it like every 5 minutes, I also save as new files every once in a while… Software is full of bugs and it’s like a human with its own character. I now know how mine acts but it took me at least a full year to figure it out.
I blame the game Morrowind for this. If I have the ability to save, I do so way more than necessary. Sorry you’re having these issues, losing work is never fun but it’s extra annoying when it’s due to bugs and crashes.
If you think that might be the issue, just check the CPU and memory load in the utilities… I try to keep things around 50%, and have yet to experience a crash.
If you’re not pushing the machine particularly hard, then chances are it’s just an edge-case bug of some kind causing the crash… Always gonna be those, and they tend to be different for everyone unfortunately.
