It’s not just that its red. It looks ugly and thrown together.
A red Nord keyboard looks great. This doesn’t, if you ask me
I think that the OG. MPC Live and One looks pretty good though.

There is a final image of the new MPC?
Because it is. In Photoshop.
What’s the guess, 8 weeks until the black or retro version are announced?
This one will look so nice mounted on the wall above my Keys61 as wall art I gotta get that KO2 first to hang on the wall though.
One thing I liked immensely and immediately about the 61keys (I’m not an MPC person, I’m a force guy and the MPC GUI/structure etc is soooooo weird! To me of course an MPC newb)
… is having the two shift buttons, one for each hand. After a bit of using it, it’s super quick to fly around the machine.
Left hand up to the left side shift button, right hand to the correspondent button on right. Need a shift function on the left? Right hand goes right up to the right hand shift button.
I’m far from settled in with it, but this dance works well once I’m in the groove again. I can’t see the buttons well enough to figure out what’s what, but looks like it will be a good experience with all the physical buttons.
At least they added the SD Card slot they forgot about on the Key 61.
I suppose that’s something positive to say about it.
People still use sd cards? That’s so 2008.
I threw a TB ssd in each of them and haven’t looked back at those ancient little memory chips.
I think I got some random Amazon tablet that uses those. My neighbour still has a car he can’t start from standing inside his house. He has to walk out to it to start it! Can you believe it!?!?
I’m yet to find a quick way to take out an SSD drive and slot in my 2023 MacBook Pro…
I’ve found a sledgehammer gets you in quick!
You can, there’s usb c/thunderbolt 4 on those. Super quick. Plug & play!
This. It’s so convinient with the sd card. Just take it out and continue on the laptop wherever you want. I dont even use the ssd that I added because it felt too cumbersome to me
I stopped touching physical media to transfer things to my computer a decade ago. I got little wires and stuff hooking them all up. And I got my own cloud. It’s in the clouds and always with me like a bad habit.
I think it’s great that those sd cards are an option though. Oh yeah, and my $2 microSD card usb adaptor does work with my Keys. It just plugs in the back. Crazy cool!
And it works, I just did it.
I’m still using SmartMedia cards (the coolest looking memory card ever) for 3 devices. They only go up to 128MB, but I got a 1TB SSD in my Force with a 128GB USB stick & a 128GB SD, but I having been using the SD lately. I love all the options.
Seems to me like they selling the remaining mainboards in different shells before jumping on a new platform given the price?!
I think they use the red because it won’t show how dirty these units get as much. They attract more dust and dirt than any gear I’ve ever owned. For the cost it should at the very least have a premium enclosure. I saw the MPC key on display locally late last year and thought they should keep it boxed. Filthy and not in the good way.
Yeah cause dust famously avoids expensive things.
Everyone here talking about these as if they were not clearly fake made by a troll is so disappointing
Akai milks things until only dust comes out…
Sorry, Dust and Crackles and Pops…
My biggest gripe with the MPC Live!
My Keys looks so pretty. No dustier than my DigiKeys or my Force. But I do tend to dust them often. I’ve heard of all those troubles people have with their Akai’s, such a shame.
Someone could make a pretty penny selling a synth cleaning kit on the World Wide Web.
Users here fixed the OG live issues with skins! The original finish was awful to keep clean!
